Another #sxsw2016 pick. RIYL Bob Wills & the Texas Playbous: Every Which-A-Way by The Quebe Sisters #np on #SoundCloud
The Texas fiddling, western swinging Quebe Sisters captured live at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix AZ on September 24, 2015.
Texas fiddle band, the Quebe Sisters captured live at the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix AZ on April 26, 2015.
The Quebe Sisters “Shame On You”
Lately, I’ve been enamored with The Quebe Sisters' version of this Spade Cooley tune. Their voices ring beautifully together, and they bring a renewed life not only to this song, but every old-time melody they record. Not to mention, the amount of talent between these three sisters is INSANE. It’s a pleasure to share their work, especially when it’s one of my favorites genres of Texas music, Western swing.
Hank Thompson - Oklahoma Hills
Thompson's birthday past this week. This is my favorite of his songs. I saw him perform just a few years ago at the Minnesota State Fair... a free show within walking distance of my house. He couldn't walk well, but he sounded great. One of my most memorable live shows of all time.
This is not a vintage clip, but it's still good.
And if that's not enough for you here are the Quebe Sisters doing the same song:

They too have been at the MN State Fair the last two years (including last week, but I missed that show).

I just came across this video by accident and I am totally TOTALLY in love with this version of 'Georgia on my mind'. And look at these woman... they are so damn beautiful. It looks like today will be spent looking up the Texas fiddle music of the Quebe Sisters.
