Scenes I would have liked to see in Bohemian Rhapsody:

The first Japan tour and the brutal comedown. Japan was the first place to truly treat Queen like rock stars, so let's have a montage of them performing massive venues, followed around by fans, possibly a little bit of Hard Day's Night style slapstick, kimono photo shoots, goofing in the gardens... And then waking up to a ringing phone in a mold infested one room apartment back in London. In particular, I picture this one from Brian's POV because he had the collection of penguins given to him by fans, so I'm picturing the shot of the moldy ceiling, panning down to every surface covered in penguin paraphernalia and the kimono draped over a chair.

The One Vision studio outtakes: "One man, one hope, one sex position." "One bum, one fart, two tits, John Deacon."

Filmmakers love to punish gay characters for existing, and reality is hard enough, but there are also the good times that come with being your true self.

Okay so to explain my jokes about Halad and Bracken and the Sphinx.

Halad calls the Sphinx the Ethiopian, and says to use that instead of Sphinx (now I could go into how Sphinxes likely come from Lamassu which Halad is but another time).

Ethiopian (Αἰθιοπία) is a Greek word, it means most closely "burnt face" but was understood more as "dark face". It was used by various Greek mythological writers and Greek ancient historians to refer to a large area of people, specifically the parts populated with black POC. (If you wish for an example, the Andromeda myth holds a usage of it for Andromeda herself, and specifically compared her skin tone to Perseus's light skin tone).

But! Halad is a Lamassu, which is not Greek they are Sumerian originally. The language he spoke was likely Sumerian (as if it were Greek I'd expect Ethiopian to translate with the rest of the words), and Ethiopian was how Bracken understood it most closely.

Now, we can go with this and just say Halad was referring to the Sphinx as dark-faced/skinned but! Lamassu are divine guardians, some considered them actual Gods, and they warded off evil. Sphinxes came from them (as in the idea, Lamassu were the earliest version of a Sphinx like being). Him being insulted by the one who chained him like such being called a being connected to him in a fashion would be fitting.

Thus I think it is far more likely for Halad to be referring to the Sphinx as "the dark one" or something along similar lines, not referencing his skin tone (calling him the Ethiopian is like calling Biden "the American" or "the white skinned" it's way too vague), but instead referencing his shadow charmer powers.

As he was guarding the exit to the prison, it seems likely to me his original duty was keeping watch over Nagi Luna, as she's the only being of great evil we know for sure was there before the Sphinx took over, and thus the Sphinx getting his powers from her and working towards her goal marks him as someone of equal evil for Halad.

Ergo: I think Halad actually was calling the Sphinx something related to his powers, but "dark" was somewhere in the meaning, which Bracken promptly understood as referencing his skin tone (as bracken is very pale) and ergo translated to "dark skinned" (via Ethiopian).

Also it's super funny to imagine Bracken getting worried about how Halad was referring to the Sphinx and imagining him trying to explain race theory to Halad who is more than lost.

Blixes vs Unicorns

The conflict between Blixes and Unicorns is mentioned in the books, both by Bracken and Vanessa.

We learned the basics of Blixes in books 2 and 4, with there being three types.

Lectoblixes: Drain their victims youth in order to make themselves younger.

Narcoblixes: control their victims in their sleepcan control victims in their sleep

Viviblixes: can control certain undead

Of these Lectoblixes seem almost like parasites for humans, definitely big threats to them. Canonically we know they have also hunted unicorns in the past, though they aren’t able to do much harm to unicorns due to how “pure” unicorns are.

It may have reached a point that they tried to kill unicorns to get at their youth or attempted other methods to lessen the intensity so that they could successfully drain the unicorns youth.

We know that Unicorns have been hunted by Blixes, though if this meant all Blixes (when only Lectoblixes seem to crave the Unicorns youth) or that it was just Lectoblixes but as they were the ones the Unicorns interacted with they shaped the Unicorns views of all Blixes, we don’t know.

Either way we do know that at least one group of Blixes have hunted Unicorns, and in turn the Unicorns hunted Blixes likely as a “preventative” method to handle the Blixes. They may have also been hunting them (especially Lectoblixes) because they attack and drain humans of their youth and likely kill many of them.

It seems their hatred is a mutual cycle of hunting, and without knowing more of their history we cannot say how much the Unicorns targeted the non-Lecto-blixes, and nor can we say whether it was justified.

In the end though, it seems to be a mutual hunting and the Unicorns reaction overall not unreasonable. They were protecting both themselves and humans from Blix attacks. Whether the non-Lecto-Blixes earned the hunting or were even primary targets, we don’t know and thus can’t judge.
