TRIVIA

“Mio” translates to either “beautiful cherry blossom” (美桜)  or “beautiful thread” (美緒).

Her surname “Kuroki” means “black wood.” This might explain her plant monster form in the Special Act.

Mio’s exact origins are a bit vague: some fans believe that she was either Queen Beryl’s daughter, her living shadow, or a clone. Mio was basically a living aspect or extension of Queen Beryl herself, created by Beryl and Jadeite. While Mio served Queen Beryl, Kuroki did act on her own at times, too.

This weapon resembled the Holy Blade from the manga, but it served a completely different purpose.

The Legendary Sword temporarily restored the powers of the Sailor Senshi. As a result, the sword disintegrated.

ABILITIES

Shapeshifting: The Pierrot took on the forms of the Shitennou, but Endymion's real guardians forced the monsters to reveal their true selves.

Translocation: The Pierrot, while disguised as the Shitennou, transferred Usagi and Tuxedo Mask to Queen Mio's lair.

Energy drain: Queen Mio sent her clown minions to steal energy from humans.

TRIVIA

A pierrot is a stock character of pantomime that originated during the late seventeenth century when Italian troupes performed in Paris. The French word "pierrot" is also a Japanese loanword (or gairaigo) that means "clown."
