The general rule in the polyam scene of London is a new bioluminescent line for each person you're involved with. Roger used to collect biolumes like how people of the past collected beads at Mardi Gras celebrations. His face and neck, arms and legs were always pulsing with green and gold light.
Now, he only has a few. For Freddie, Brian, John, Dominique, Debbie, and Serena, signifying his long-lasting romantic and platonic ties with each of them.
