Summary:

He had only been trying to be friendly with the Queen. Queen Rapunzel of Corona was a kind, gentle, and bright soul, who cared so deeply about things, perhaps more than she should be.  She believes too much of the best in people, and wants nothing but the best for the people of the kingdom.  It almost seemed cruel she was born so high with a heart so full and big. Forced to fight for her husband’s, the king, flippant attention. An outcast in her own court just because the kingdom was at odds with Corona. She kept her head high as best she could, but the misery was clear. Eugene had just been doing his duty.

AN: A few weeks ago I rewatched BBC's The Musketeers. It made he want a New Dream AU of it. So this it, just a fun little self-indulgence blurb of an AU. But I hope you enjoy. The cheating warning is only there because Rapunzel is married.
