Yu Narukami is a young witch who had spent his life in a Mortal-heavy city. But come his second year of high school, he finds himself thrust into the small town of Inaba -- a town where magic and monster heritage is something to be proud of and put on display. And here he'll stay for the next year until his parents return from their work project overseas.
As a child, he struggled to find ground with his peers whether they be Mortal or not. Even among witches, Yu stands out for his identity as a Seer -- a witch who is born with the ability to see the future whether they want to or not. Whether this power is a curse or a blessing is something he has yet to decide. It is a power out of his control, and prior to arrival in Inaba, only served to make his life more difficult. Friendship did appear to be an option.
That was until he arrived in Inaba, where the abnormal is considered normal. Determined not to let his power haunts him, he does his best to keep the truth hidden until he finds himself in a position where he no longer can. Being a seer is a part of who he is, and one that the members of the Investigation Team soon embrace with the rest of him. With their help, Yu is determined to carve a new path in his life as he learns to accept everything about the world around him... including learning the finer details of his mysterious power, using each piece and clue he's given to craft a bigger picture.
In combat situations, Yu adapts easily to his teammates' needs and any situation presented. It should be noted, though, that he works best with Yosuke Hanamura and Naoto Shirogane.
