First fic you ever wrote. Morning Sickness for Farscape. Right out of the gate I wrote mpreg. Crazy, huh? But that’s Farscape for you.
Best fic you ever wrote. This is a really hard question to answer. Part of me wants to say Madrigal or Treading Water, but this meme reminded me of the first long-fic I ever wrote, Left Behind, which is also Farscape, and it’s a pretty rollicking adventure story.
Most popular fic you ever wrote. If you go by comments and kudos, that would be Treading Water. If you go by hits (and I’m only looking at Ao3 here), that would Flour and Wine - I have no idea why, because I’ve never gotten a comment on it and the kudos are not even close to proportional to the number of hits, but that sucker has 26,226 hits on Ao3, for no apparent reason.
Most unappreciated fic you ever wrote. That’s probably This Temporary Life, based on both the Ao3 and FFN stats. It’s a BSG remix fic that I enjoyed writing and thought turned out pretty good, but a lot of times, people just don’t care about fics centered on secondary characters.
Fave fic kinks. Beyond Hurt/Comfort, I don’t know that I have any fic kinks?
Fave fic writing process. I don’t know if this is a favorite, per se, but I generally have the best luck on Saturday mornings. My husband goes out for breakfast with a group of guys and is out of the house for at least two hours, so I feed my animals, make a cup of coffee, and then fire up the laptop and sit on my big, comfy chair with at least one cat beside me and another on the back, behind my head. Although sometimes the cat beside me is a dog beside me, but not usually because she has a tendency to kick me. Then I fire up Focus Writer, which blocks out all my on-screen distractions, and start writing. Sometimes it’s only a few hundred words, sometimes it’s a couple thousand, but I can’t remember a time that no words flowed.
Longest fic you ever wrote, in word count. Treading Water, hands down. This baby clocks in at a whopping 199,437 words. There are longer fics out there in the THG fandom, but they were not written by me.
Funniest fic you ever wrote? Hungry Zombies, a BSG crack!fic I wrote a LONG time ago.
Quote a line from your fic. This is a “line” from Madrigal, Johanna in the Quarter Quell: Rage grew within her, the way Snow and his Gamemakers played with their lives. When the invisible wall that stopped her from going to Finnick finally dropped, Johanna wanted to murder someone. Two someones, actually. But one of them was far away in a mansion that smelled like blood and roses; the other was in a tower of glass and chrome and was supposed to be on their fucking side, and she was helpless to do anything about that, too.
Describe your fics in three words. Visual. Atmospheric. Cinematic. (Ugh.)
If you could only rec one fic, it would be: Victorious - Rebellious. While this is technically two fics, the one picks up directly where the other leaves off, and they were meant to be one, but I ran out of time on the Het Big Bang challenge. So rather than two 40k fics, as far as I’m concerned, they’re one 80k fic.
