rapunzel/eugene
OOOOOOOOOO
who cooks normally?: rapunzel likes to experiment in the castle kitchen since they have so many more ingredients there than she did in her tower. she has a soft spot for eugene’s grilled cheeses though.
how often do they fight?:
what do they do when they’re away from each other?: rapunzel hates it; she’s spent so much of her life alone but all her favourite activities were things she did in the tower anyway, so they don’t relax her as much. she tries to do new things that she can throw herself into fully to take her mind off of eugene.
nicknames for each other?: eugene, as we all know, has a talent for them, but ‘goldie’ and ‘blondie’ don’t quite apply anymore, so he goes for the more traditional, standard pet names - usually ‘sunshine’.
who is more likely to pay for dinner?: eugene - he’s spent enough time not being a gentleman.
who steals the covers at night?: rapunzel - she’s used to only sharing a bed with a tiny amphibian, so she sprawls out and moves around a lot. it usually works though; eugene is used to folding himself into a small ball so he could sleep on doorstops or under trees or wherever it was when he couldn’t charm his way into a girl’s bed or into an inn.
what would they get each other for gifts?: rapunzel doesn’t have a great knowledge of materialistic goods, so she goes for the homemade. paintings, mostly. eugene loves them - she always gets his nose right.
who remembers things?: rapunzel takes all of the world around her intently, filing away every detail for later. everything new she eagerly asks the name for, and then repeats it over and over until it no longer sounds like it’s new; like she’s known it forever.
who cusses more?: eugene, but he’s trying to stop. rapunzel lets out a scandalised gasp whenever he does and swats his chest disapprovingly.
what would they do if the other one was hurt?: rapunzel remembers what it was like to hold eugene’s limp, cold body in her arms, and there are times when he sleeps so quietly that she has to wake him up, just to check. she frets over any scrape, bruise or papercut he gets but eugene understands; rapunzel spent a life without pain, or at least pro-longed pain. before all it took was a lock of her hair and a song and it was all over. losing it didn’t mean losing her energy, her love for life; she runs about the castle as carefree as before and the first time she sprained her wrist from falling down eugene thought he was going to pass out from worry. even when the medic tended to her, he didn’t relax, until rapunzel extended her bound wrists towards him, eyes still rimmed with tears, and asked for a kiss. from then, any bump or bruise he immediately peppers all over. it makes her smile, even if it can’t cure the pain.
who kissed who first?: rapunzel did, even if eugene SWEARS he was going to in the boat beneath the latern-lit sky.
who made the first move?: eugene, but only because rapunzel barely knew how to. and even then, he explained his intentions and let her decide if she wanted it. in the end, like everything else, he’d say he was following her.
who started the relationship?: neither, really - after rapunzel explained who she was to eugene, she wasn’t sure whether he’d want to stay with her; in her books princesses had an easy, fanciful life but the time she had spent outside her tower had taught her not much was like her books. eugene’s worry was the fact that he was a thief - an ex-thief, at this point; or at least he intended to be - and what king and queen on earth would want their at-last-found daughter to be courted by a convict. but there was never any question about whether they wanted to be together, and in that sense they always were.
