I could not let this month pass without paying homage to the Matriarch of our family, who completed her earthly assignment this past September and earned her heavenly wings. Affectionately known as “Nana”, Ms. Alberta Worthy Evans” was a force to be reckoned with in her own way. She also took great pride in her appearance and the maintenance of her small waist line, especially after birthing ALL of children. Nana was also a very intelligent woman too who loved her family and serving her community. My Mother’s passing overshadowed my grieving process for my beloved grandmother because it was less than three months after my Mother. This was in no way a reflection of our special bond. In fact, I think it was The Most High’s way of protecting and preserving my wounded heart. As I continue to heal and honor the love, life and legacy of these two dynamic, strong Black women and the influence they STILL have in my life, it’s a privilege and an honor to present my latest creation, “Queen Nana Bert”. You will always be our family’s Queen beyond the physical realm. You are loved and missed dearly, Nana. Here’s to love, here’s to life, here’s to YOU, legendary ancestor. #fctalk #freedomclay #afrofolkartbyfreedomclay #queennanabert #blackhistorymonth365 #blackhistorymonth2019 #legendaryancestor #heavenlyangel #creatingsociallyresponsibleart https://www.instagram.com/p/BuFOik4HFmq/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1kf462q9i82qe
