a good rule of thumb is that you can make anything fiddle music- it's a really flexible genre and a fiddler would probably hurt me for saying this but it doesn't (in my experience) have a set "genre". I love both of those pieces (I think playing fiddling music is fun but it's not so great to listen to) and I'll check out those other two! I love listening to classical but I'm so not a classical person, it's hilarious when I try. Movie soundtracks are the best tbh (personal fave is pirates of
The carribean and lord of the rings) but I play electric violin and rock music is really my thing. I like to “amp out” classical pieces w my friend and I’m pretty sure a whole bunch of composers are turning over in their grave, but hey. :) any fun orchestra stories? Or just favorites to play?
pirates of the caribbean is definitely one of the best soundtracks to play and listen to. i’ve never played it in an orchestra but i’ve played bits of it on my own. perhaps one day…
but there’s a shit ton of great pieces out there (along with terrible ones). my favorite pieces are always ones with a full orchestra (orchestra + band) though, but there are some exceptions. i’ve never played an electric violin, i’m probably more of a traditional violinist, I suppose. But I do like the sounds of those kind of classical-turned-rock songs. The Piano Guys do a great job with that.
And I have a ton of fun orchestra stories, but they’re kind of the ones where you had to be there to get it? All the way through elementary to high school there was this group of “advanced” kids which I was associated with. Basically there was about 6 or 7 of us who had started playing early and we were always the leaders of our sections. We also went to a bunch of competitions together and played in the extra orchestras at our school (like the chamber orchestra and pit orchestra and stuff) so you get to know each other pretty well through all those years. And let’s just say a lot of crazy things happened during those years, haha. Probably the best times I had during grade school was in orchestra and it’s probably the only thing I miss from it.
Hey! I'm a violinist too! Do you have a favorite genre to play? or any fun stories idk :)
Ooh that’s hard. I guess I enjoy classical and movie soundtrack music. One thing I despise is fiddle music, though. There are some exceptions like The Devil Went Down to Georgia and Hoe Down (although come to think of it I’m not sure if those are official “fiddle music” or not?) both of which I’ve played and enjoyed playing them. It’s hard to explain the exact style I enjoy because I enjoy playing a lot of pieces but I do have a few favorites like Holst’s The Planets and Dvorak’s New World Symphony (come to think of it I think the piece of music I showed in that post was from the New World Symphony).
Thanks for asking! :)
the name of the comics with kate and clint and wade are called hawkeye vs deadpan and they're fantastic, i'd really recommend them :)
(2/2) *hawkeye vs deadpool i think it might have done a weird autocorrect thing sorry
thank you! I’m sorry i probably should’ve just googled it…i’m just incredibly lazy that way :) It looks great and I always see that photoset of kate accidentally confusing deadpool’s face for a freddie krueger costume and i’m always like “oh kate <3″

right, he reads about some fancy potion that can make you float but it's crazy dangerous to make but he's like 'sirius, floating! imagine!' and sirius is like 'you could explode you asshole we're not doing that'
And James overhears, and he says "But we could float! Think of all the pranks we could play!" and Sirius is just going "No. No explosions. No deaths. Just no."
