HAPPY 27TH BIRTHDAY HALSEY September 29, 1994 When I was 24, 25 and I looked around and I was like, damn I’m so successful and I try to be so nice to everyone, I go around and I’m smiling, kissing everyone’s ass, supporting their projects, I’m going to clubs and buying bottles, you know, I’m trying to make friends and everybody still hates me. If me being this successful and me trying this hard isn’t gonna make me well-liked then what the hell is going to? Now I’m 26 and I’m like, yeah, I don’t care. [...] I love my life so much right now. That peace and that solitude and being surrounded by people that genuinely care about me and having intimate relationships where I’m not seeking validation all the time.
