Obi-Wan groaned, that was the last time he was ever going to be talked into drinking Spotchka with the delegation again. When he heard the voice he didn’t fully register at first, but then his eyes shot wide open when it dawned on him. Sitting up right, his hair half matted, seeing Padmé next to him he asked in alarm, “Padmé?!”

“What?” Anakin froze, searching Padmé’s gaze. Where had this come from? “What did I do—angel, what did I do?” he asked, his eyes widening. “I thought you were happy—I thought we were happy. I know none of this is ideal but…y-you said you loved me. You don’t anymore, do you?”

It wasn’t often that Padmé left the Theed Palace, but she’d been able to convince Captain Panaka to allow her to walk the streets of Theed with a few guards and her handmaidens for protection.

Sabé was right behind Padmé when she heard a familiar voice call out no to Queen Amidala like the other voices, but to her, using her old name. Freezing when she spotted her mother in the crowd, Sabé placed her hand on Padmé’s shoulder to stop her.

“We should head back, Your Highness.”

Their two kingdoms had been partners for years, there had even been a brief discussion when he had been young of his marrying Padmé. But now he was married to Breha and the engagement had never happened.

“We are glad to welcome you, how was your journey?”

He’s bouncing a screaming Leia in his arms, trying to calm her down when Padmé appeared in the nursery doorway.

“Did she wake you?” He asked as Leia continued to scream, how she hadn’t woke her brother yet, Anakin didn’t know.

“She’s just a little fussy, I got her.”
