@queenravcnna || “are you on lunch? good.” there’s not wait for a reply. gertrude didn’t much want to wait. it was a perfect time for her to drop her bag in ravenna’s office and drape herself dramatically against the furniture. it certainly would have made freud happy to see someone appreciate his settee and chair set up. and gertrude was certainly happy to lie across it like some tragic regency period heroine, though she was nothing of the sort. “ravenna, darling? how’s your day been?” gertrude enjoys messing with those she can remotely call friends. actually, ravenna may be the closest she has to a friend, seeing as with aaric, she was more of a nuisance that was tolerated (and she could barely tolerate him at times), mal was a bit more stiff and boring, and a good deal more of the bedeviled were just not her style.
ravenna, on the other hand, was so much of style. she was beautiful, and at times vain, and charming, and had that special factor to her that gertrude couldn’t stop liking. as much as she hated to like things. ravenna was the sort to talk to about all the chaos in the world and laugh about it, though thankfully she wasn’t that way professionally, one would hope. still, gertrude turned, her face the best imitation of bright and light that she could muster, and tried an entrance again. “hi ravenna,” she says, pulling a takeaway container from her bag, “i did bring you lunch today so i’m not just here and keeping you away from... sustenance, i suppose. but i feel like our gossip is sustaining enough for the soul, yes?”
