Friday vibes on the edge of the holidays 🙏🏝 For our last lunch in #Guadeloupe, we treated ourselves to lunch at @latoubanahotelandspa, usually we aren’t ones to end up going to a hotel restaurant, but this one is too good to be missed. Cocktails by their infinity pool on a cliff side, #conch #ceviche, #goat #curry, #filetmignon, and #coconut #icecream rounded out this exceptional meal. Island ingredients, sourced from Guadeloupe and just insanely delicious. It’s a must for your vacation splurge meal and a perfect way to end our Guadeloupe features! After a long day of hiking in the mud down to the best waterfall of our whole trip #sautdacomat (serious hiking shoes and attitudes necessary), we took in a little sun at the pool at our hotel @lacreolebeachhotelandspa and ventured off to the #SaintFrancoisMarche, a local night market, where we found #banana and #chocolate #Tormentd ,#goatcolombo #curry, #crab patties, and local veggies, spices, and fruit as a predinner snack 🤫 We attempted to go to local lobster spot #lecolombo, but since we are here just before the high season, many things were closed. We ended up at #LeZawag, in Gosier near our hotel, and we weren’t disappointed. We had an insane amuse bouche of local crayfish with a BLUE sauce (that was totally lost in translation), duck, and Caribbean spiny lobster! 🦐🦐🦐 Tomorrow we’ll be posting our last part on #Guadeloupe as we arrived home this afternoon, and we have saved the best for last!! Eating this over the top #mango #souffle makes ya feel like a sinner on #lessaintes 🤫😍 We headed over to Les Saintes, the smaller archipelago in #Guadeloupe yesterday to see their #UNESCOworldheritagesite bay, hike down and swim in the #PainDeSucre or Sugar Loaf Beach, watch Brian fumble on a scooter (there’s no cars there except for small electric ones), and, but of course, to eat!!! We sided with a more French option right on the beach #TiKazLa and fell head over heels for their #mangosuffle and the way they used a combination of french and creole ingredients like scallops with local boudin noir (#bloodsausage), #lambshank, and the famous #Accras or #codfritter served with #dogsauce, found all over Guadeloupe. Finished up by getting absolutely soaked in a rain storm and then again on our ferry back to #Guadeloupe, so we caught up on our relaxation time back at @lejardinmalanga in the pool with a cold cocktail overlooking the islands we spent the day at.
