Colton Haynes on his reasons for leaving Arrow

According to Colton himself, he’s “leaving” Arrow because he’s too much of a family-man. He stated that he has to spend 10 months in a row in Vancouver while shooting for Arrow, during which he barly gets to see his siblings, nieces, and nephews. This has become too much for him, which is why he decided to not return to Arrow as a series-regular for season four.

I set the “leaving” in quotation marks, however, because he made it perfectly clear that completely leaving is not what he’s doing. He seemed certain that he would continue making guest-appearances, even following his demotion. For his fans this means we have to be tough and just look forward to the appearances he is going to make :)

He answered these questions while at a convention he attended in Frankfurt, Germany this past weekend. He seemed absolutely sincere about it. While answering questions he very often citied his family as a big influence in his life. His (apparently older) brother Clinton was also present, and never left his side. Despite my disappointment, I wish him all the best, and hope he becomes happy that way. :)
