Palette Prompt!
I’ve never done a palette prompt before omg
purple!
PURPLE = I don’t talk to you but I really love your blog.
Aw, thank you!! c:
aborting disabled fetuses should be allowed. encouraged, no. aborting disabled babies is eugenics, which i despise, but eugenics does not trump bodily autonomy. we need to provide resources so mothers are better able to care for disabled children, so they don't feel the need to abort. and i say all this as an autistic person.
I feel ya, I do. Forcing and/or encouraging people to abort wanted disabled pregnancies one thing but allowing a person who is either ableist or incapable of caring for a disabled child to abort is a whole other. And yes, we absolutely need better resources for parents of disabled children, better schools and programs and inexpensive aide is a good start. If someone finds out their child will have autism or downs or william’s syndrome and they want to carry them to term and raise them, that is fine! But someone else’s desire to abort a pregnancy like that is equally valid and people need to realize this.
queentropy replied to your post:(pssst opal, that "bisexuals erased by the media"...
no like, anne frank was a holocaust victim from nazis, having them on the same list is disrespectful. anne frank was also never able to explore her sexuality. coco chanel’s being bisexual or whatever she was is completely invalidated cus she’s a nazi
see, i didn’t quite make this connection at first because i’m more centred on the fact that the post is about bisexuality rather than anything else.
now, i do agree that this is disrespectful. but this does not make the post bad as a whole. these names can be removed, and then would you say it wasn’t a bad post? these two names being on there doesn’t invalidate everyone else’s sexualities.
if coco chanel was bisexual, then she was bisexual, no matter whether she was a nazi or not. bad people don’t have to be straight.
so yes, these people could have been removed to prevent disrespect/inaccuracies. but the fact that these two people on the lists are there does not invalidate the others.
(pssst opal, that "bisexuals erased by the media" post is bad because anne frank is on it who's bisexuality is unconfirmed and also coco chanel, also on the list, was a nazi.)
i don’t think these two things make the post ‘bad’ as a whole, but thank you for telling me.
like sure, op maybe didn’t know that it was unconfirmed/had a bad source? or maybe they should have had a note like freddie mercury’s one saying ‘not rly sure, is unconfirmed’.
also coco chanel was added by another commenter, but being bisexual doesn’t mean that you’re a good person full stop. just because she was a nazi (if this is true, i think i saw a post about it somewhere once), this does not invalidate her sexuality or the sexuality of everyone else on that list.
it’s good to know about these identities that have been erased by the media, even if the people in question had bad attributes.
