Luke was purposely lingering around the temporary work station of the new intern, Beth. He glanced at his watch in irritation. She was supposed to be here as of 10 minutes ago, but was still no where to be seen. That meant that, while he lingered about with his coffee in hand, he had to endure odd gazes from his employees, the whispers, and worst, greet them. He never greeted them. At least not the ones on this level because he never came here. Well not never, just rarely. He mentally made himself a note to transfer the intern to his level -- it’d made supervision much easier. Beth was the daughter of his arch-rival, and well, god knew why they’d sent her here.
“Your late.” He remarked in disbelief. “again.” A sigh left his lips, “look I know your the new intern and we don’t pay you, but that doesn’t mean you get the luxury of being late every fucking morning. Be here on time or this seat’ll belong to the next person in line.” He was deadpan serious. Ok so maybe he wasn’t. He was just trying to get under her skin.
