They made Dean Smith fully gay and it was probably supposed to be a joke (by Zachariah at the very least) but it comes off as if Dean was raised differently (and by Bobby) he'd be more open about it.

I think it’s very very funny when people complain that us gays are erasing dean’s important relationship with gender and toxic masculinity by calling him queer rather than Just Some (cishet) Guy Struggling(tm) when, in reality, WE talk about dean’s relationship with gender and toxic masculinity more than ANYONE, like we’re literally always talking about it. The irony is that if no one thought Dean was into men, no one here would hardly bother talking about Dean’s toxic masculinity bc god knows it’s US that does the parsing and nuance and discussion about it, not the show! We are the ones talking about it bc we know what it’s like to be beaten down by toxic gendered expectations and we worry at those wounds with obsession like no one else. I’ve read 100k word fics primarily using dean’s sexuality as a vehicle to contemplate and address toxic masculinity, there are blogs dedicated to the practice. WE ARE OUT HERE! WHERE ARE YOU? WHINING IN OUR MENTIONS? Leeching off of our thoughts and meta because we ARE the conversation.
