alright y'all
since i've got nothing better to do, i've decided to share with you my top 10 on theme met looks (disclaimer: i know NOTHING about fashion)
1. LUPITA NYONG'O
stunning as always. the denim, the sequins, the hair, the style, EVERYTHING. perfectly took American fashion and made it classy. she killed it.
2. DAN LEVY
this look is getting so much hate for NO REASON. he absolutely nailed it. i love the silhouette, the color scheme, the idea behind it, all of it. amazing.
3. ANOK YAI
HOLY FUCK. this look is absolutely everything. i am in love with it. perfectly channeling josephine baker. everything about it screams classy, but it is the furthest thing from boring. literally perfect. also anok yai is just absolutely beautiful.
4. NIKKI DE JAEGER
the most beautiful tribute on the carpet last night. the color scheme, the flowers, the tasteful sash, everything. she looks absolutely regal, and THIS is how you do american fashion. marsha p. johnson would be proud.
5. QUANNAH CHASINGHORSE
TRUE AMERICAN FASHION. i love it. the colors, the indigenous representation, the cut of the dress, the accessories, the whole look is a masterpiece. it's incredible.
6. BARBIE FERRIERA
YESYESYES she absolutely nailed the flapper look. the whole dress is absolutely stunning, from the cut, to the bodice, to the skirt. she is stunning, and this look is one of the most on theme looks of the whole night.
7. AMANDLA STENBERG
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS LOOK. it's american, it's feminine, it's masculine, the shoes, the corset, the coattail, THE HAIR OMFG. they killed it. absolutely killed it.
8. CL
SO ON THEME. one of the most interesting and innovative looks of the night. it's simple, but she looks AMAZING. the wash of denim is perfect, the accessories are perfect, the shoes are perfect. absolutely love it.
9. TESSA THOMPSON
YES. i absolutely love this look. the dress is stunning, the color, the cut, everything. it's so chic and super eye catching. the hat and the boots add the perfect nod to american fashion.
10. KIM PETRAS
another look that is getting far too much hate. yeah it's bizarre but it's AMAZING. it's camp, yet classy, and is most definitely american. i genuinely love everything about this look.
all of these looks were STUNNING.

ALL MY LIFE HAS BEEN A COSTUME PARTY —Jessica Abughattas The night was like a planet turning on its axis tides shifting in some seamless, unnoticeable way. I figured as long as I have to go on with this existing I might as well be irresistible, and so buzzing, I took him like a small cactus fruit into my mouth. I can be this whole tequila bar. I can be that blonde over there in a cropped t-shirt shooting stardust through the gap in her teeth. Look—there she is kissing the raven-haired lady on the lips. And there in the crowd, a man is leaning in and saying something no one will ever remember. But listen close, somewhere in the mob we can hear my Will To Live saying very carefully: really, I had a great time but this party’s almost over.
