Georgia Equality: Georgia Equality’s mission is to advance fairness, safety and opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities and our allies throughout the state. We are two organizations – united with a common vision but serving unique functions in our work to achieve equality. Georgia Equality, Inc. works year-round to pass pro-equality legislation and elect fair-minded elected officials. Through the Equality Foundation of Georgia, we conduct voter registration and educational activities, provide information to decision makers, and work to organize and mobilize LGBT residents and allies to advance equality in urban, suburban, and rural communities across the state.
Georgia Safe Schools Coalition: A partnership of educators, community organizations, and safe school activists dedicated to raising awareness about issues affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQQ) youth and families. GSSC works with educators and community organizations to help Georgia’s schools become safe and affirming environments for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/ expression.
Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia: The Stonewall Bar Association (“SBA”) is a professional association of attorneys, judges, law students, paralegals and other legal professionals who support the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, and who oppose discrimination based upon sexual orientation or gender identity. Lambda Legal Southern Regional Office: Our civil rights work from the SRO, which opened in 1997, is shifting the legal landscape throughout the South, where anti-gay and HIV-related discrimination is especially entrenched.
ACLU Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Project: The LGBT Project fights discrimination and moves public opinion on LGBT rights through the courts, legislatures and public education.
Atlanta Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce: Leading the way for development, advocacy and growth of the LGBT community and its allies. We accomplish this through building our small businesses, working with professionals in Corporations, supporting our non-profits and encouraging the general community to support those that support their rights.
The Health Initiative: The Atlanta Lesbian Health Initiative is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of lesbians and other members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer community through education, advocacy, support and access to care.
In The Life Atlanta: The official organizer of Atlanta Black Gay Pride, now the world largest pride celebration for African American lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. Our mission is to promote unity, pride, and self-empowerment.
JustUsAtlanta: A 100% youth-run (ages 13-28) group that provides a safe space for the Greater Atlanta area’s LGBTQQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and Asexual) youth. We offer weekly discussion groups, a peer-led mental health group, HIV/STI testing, and social events. In the near future, we will begin to offer educational and vocational workshops, tutoring, counseling, and other services as need arises.
PFLAG Atlanta: A group of parents, families, friends, lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgendered people who are committed to giving support to each other as we discover and understand more about being human. Our purpose is to help change attitudes and to create an environment of understanding so that our gay family members and friends can live with dignity and respect.
Feminist Women’s Health Center: The Feminist Health Center has offered sensitive, friendly, and affordable health care to gender variant and intersex individuals since 2000. The center is committed to providing a safe space and trans-affirmative environment for individuals interested in holistic wellness services. They also provide a comprehensive fertility program that facilitates a progressive and inclusive environment.
Southerners On New Ground: SONG is a home for LGBTQ liberation across all lines of race, class, abilities, age, culture, gender, and sexuality in the South. We build, sustain, and connect a southern regional base of LBGTQ people in order to transform the region through strategic projects and campaigns developed in response to the current conditions in our communities. SONG builds this movement through leadership development, intersectional analysis, and organizing.
First City Network: Georgia’s oldest LGBT organization, First City Network serves as a forum to share strengths and ideas, stimulate personal growth and provide social activities. We provide national, state and local information and referral services for health care, counseling, education, advocacy and mutual support.
