[image ID: a white t-shirt with dark blue text that reads "I survived being queer at BYU and all i got was this dumb t-shirt and also PTSD"]
But I think the main reason God doesn't want me to have money and go the the gym is because I would use the money to get a custom pair of booty shorts that are hymnal-green and say "HYMNBO" in gold hymnal font on the butt and I would work out in those all the time until my butt looks so good that everyone at the gym just stares at it and they accidentally call me HYMNBO during normal conversations.
So you're Mormon *and* gay? How's that supposed to work?
Excellent question! As soon as I have an answer I'll let you know that it's still none of your business!
Dear Mouse,
im sorry this is so personal from an annon but The Spirit told me to bring this up to you. Honedy i am not sure if i need an answer or just to write it out
my biggest fear of all time is that i tell someone ‘trustworthy’ that I am queer and then they tell Bishop or my family. This emotional block has put a gap between myself, God, and my ward family.
In a regular 1-1 meeding Bishop brought up therapy through the church. I know He wants me to try this but i am so scared writing this is bringing me to tears.
I want to trust God in this, but i am scared to unravel this load-bearing knot in my chest
I wish I could give you an easy answer. I wish life in general had easy answers. But it doesn’t, life is messy and complicated and, honestly, your fears are valid. Maybe people you care about will betray your trust and hurt you. BUT! Your fears are also one sided. What if the people you love end up loving you more? What if they’ve been waiting to find a way to help and support you and just haven’t figured out how yet? What if all the good things in life are just around the next corner?
You’ve analyzed the worst case scenario, but that’s just one of endless possibilities. Maybe try devoting equal attention to other possibilities. You don’t even need the best case scenarios. What if you came out to someone and it changed nothing in your relationship with them? What if therapy gives you small ways to deal with this all?
The best advice I can give is that your fears may be valid, but so are your hopes and dreams.
I wish all the Gay Mormons in my phone a very gay Christmas, an Extremely Gay New Year, and a happy Joseph Smith's birthday. I believe our illiterate himbo prophet would also wish you the same.
My bisexual Mormon ass could never watch Bridgerton, I struggle with not falling in love with everyone in the standard church history films. How I gonna make it when everyone is actually trying to be sexy?
rise and shout, bitches
