I feel this need to promote Skam España and Crisana/Croana to all the gays out there, so this will be a post explaining all the important bits and where to watch etc, as one of my previous posts got a couple questions about it.
Skam España is a remake of Skam, which was originally a Norwegian show that started in 2015 and finished in 2017. This show BLEW UP domestically and internationally, and thanks to this there has been multiple remakes done of it (7 i think?) from around the world, mostly Europe.
Skam introduced a new way to follow a show: it drops clips “in real time” as well as texts and stuff between the characters. Oh and they all have instagram accounts that get updated in “real time” as well. Each season focuses on a different character, and you get the messages from that person’s view.
The OG skam’s season 3 centers around a gay (male) love story between two teenagers, which is still to this day one of my favourite pieces of tv ever. It deals with coming out (spoiler, without bad reactions!!), coming to terms with yourself, mental illness and other fun stuff. It’s amazing:
And Skam España redid this plot in the show’s second season with TWO QUEER GIRLS THAT ARE ALSO PLAYED BY TWO TEENAGE QUEER GIRLS. Do i need to say more? I probably don’t, but I will.
This show gives such a nice look into falling in love with a girl from the point of view of an other girl. Not some old man director’s view, not a hyper sexualised view, not a toxic view, just a view that feels real.
The season literally starts with them feeling each others heartbeats, they have the most beautiful first kiss ever, and we get domestic fluff like this. Like literally minutes and minutes and minutes of this:
We also get super supportive and amazing friends!!
So where can you watch this?
The amazing team that they are, the show puts all the clips as they come out to their youtube channel. The videos are not geoblocked and all the videos have english subtitles (thank you amazing fans!!). This playlist has all the videos of the second season in the right order. So gays, I’ve honestly never watched a wlw plot that has gone so much under my skin and that feels so real. I 100% recommend this to everyone, even if you’d feel a bit iffy about reading subtitles. You don’t even need the subtitles to get the gay.
