i hope u dont mind me answering this publicly but i wanted to share my love of trans remus with the world bc i M TRANS REMUS TRASH
trans!remus who finds out he’s trans pre hogwarts and he rooms with the marauders
and a little before the end of second year they’re like “hey we noticed you’re always sick for a few days every month what’s up with that” bc remus has had his period since two months after he turned twelve and he gets potions but they only shorten it - they can’t make it go away entirely
so remus doesn’t want to tell it at first but they coax him into telling so he does
and james and sirius are like “oh” in unison
remus asks what’s up bc theyre looking a little embarrassed and sheepish and that’s not an emotion he’s used to seeing on them
they confess they thought he was a werewolf and they all share a laugh about it because “SIRIUS HONESTLY” “well idk what was i supposed to think? is it my fault the start of ur period falls on the full moon”
so from then on it becomes a running joke and when snape asks “hey lupin what are u disappearing off to during the full moon” remus says “oh, you know. transformations and all”
and peter desperately tries to keep a straight face because snape looks appalled and it’s the funniest thing until he bursts out laughing and “PETER DO U NOT HAVE ANY SELF CONTROL” “what is this self control u speak of”
fast forward to prisoner of azkaban:
remus making sure hogwarts students are educated about queer matters
bc he had to find out all by himself and he doesn’t want other people to go through that
so he talks to dumbledore and from then on everyone gets half a year of lgbt education in second year - where they talk about queer history, gender and sexuality
remus also tells them they can always come to him with questions and it isn’t long before two students show up
one, turns out, thinks they might be a trans girl, and the other thinks they might be nonbinary and if he could explain what it was like for him when he was younger?
