what he said! i think it was just an easy way to list ideologies and opinions, like you both mentioned. if i walk what i talk why would i need that? and you’re right about the worst kind of people not caring about them. (esp people with “don’t follow if ur a porn bot” like they’re gonna read it)

lmao the bot ones always get me, too. I don’t think people realise that bots are like... not human. they were programmed by a human but do what they’re programmed to after that. no human is interacting with the blog at all, and the bot is physically incapable of reading your byf. they don’t even go on your blog: you type a phrase or word that tells the bot to execute a command to follow. no interaction takes place. but truly, if you live your ideologies and opinions you should haven’t to list them. i resent the attitude on this site that if you’re not constantly talking about your ideologies then you can’t possibly believe them.

Had a friend who followed someone without reading the byf or whatever, person essentially started just making “call out posts” @ her bc she’s a lesbian and lesbians were against the persons byf so clearly she did it out of malice????
I’ve seen things like this happen, too. people have been called out/harassed, even though nearly all byfs are inaccessible from mobile. in a lot of cases byfs are used as a prime way of gathering victims for “call out culture”. you can feel like an activist by getting your followers to send hate to the ableist! even though in this case the “ableist” is a 15 year old on mobile who didn’t read your 300-point list of “acceptable” followers.

exactly. mobile users won’t see it at all, which complicates things. though I did notice your own mobile header is a strong demand that nobody reblogs your personal posts without permission, which leads me to have to ask: you yourself are one of the people who gets very irritated with people reblogging personal posts that you have posted publicly, even if it’s a generic post or people are responding with advice you’ve specifically asked for. I was wondering if you see that as overly different to this? because to be honest it’s not -- if you don’t want people reblogging your posts, you shouldn’t post them publicly. the internet just does not work that way.
