i love crying over a character’s death on a show I’ve never even watched.

Why do show writers just casually decide to have one random episode where a very beloved character dies and the whole episode is the saddest thing you'll ever watch?

Like do they just wake up and go "You know what we should do this season? We should kill off the best character and emotionally destroy the viewers for funsies! It'll be great!"

Guess what? It is not great.
