1-8 of the spring time otp questions for querida/winnie :>
1. Does anyone in your OTP have seasonal allergies that kick up in the spring? How does the other member help?
Winnie spends every school year trying faer best to adopt a strong, silent-type persona; every year, this affectation is completely ruined by Winnie’s severe pollen allergies come spring. Querída has learned to always carry around a selection of both handkerchiefs and tissues everywhere she goes and has been known to force-feed her datemate soup and cough drops along with faer allergy medication.
2. Where does your OTP like to go walking when the weather is warm?
Querída was raised to believe in the purifying properties of sunlight and believes it’s imperative that she maintain a healthy glow in both complexion and mood. She takes advantage of every nice day to its fullest, whether through serious hiking or simply just lounging in a hammock somewhere. She often drags Winnie along despite her datemate’s protestations. When they walk to the local community pool, Winnie will sit in the shade with faer comic books and watch Querída splash around happily in the water. Sometimes her identical twin brother Refiye will come along, and then Winnie will find all sorts of ways to prank him until he stops ogling cute boys and leaves.
3. How would your OTP handle it if one of them became a bee?
4. Does your OTP plant flowers/tend to gardens?
Querída’s mother, Rosarío, passed on her green thumb to her daughter. Together they manage to cram their family’s tiny apartment full of as many potted plants as will fit (and then some). Rosarío prefers to grow ‘sensible’ things like herbs and small vegetables while Querída adores flowers. She’s mostly only allowed to grow nasturtiums and other edible flowers at home, however, so she mostly delights in going to parks where she can see tulips and daisies and lilies and crocuses and mums. When Winnie was adopted by the Petersons, Querída saw to it that she could plant a few things in the garden beds of their huge hippie commune. Winnie hasn’t quite forgiven her for that, though, because it’s faer job to maintain Querída’s plants when she’s not there.
5. Does your OTP like the beauty and new life of spring or the cold winter?
Querída likes all things spring: lilacs bursting forth on the bush; songbirds returning from warmer climes; seeing grass instead of snow everywhere; the tang of ozone that comes after a thunderstorm, as well as the occasional double rainbows; lengthening daylight in the evenings; pastels and flower prints on her skirts and blouses; and even the mandatory spring cleaning. Winnie prefers winter, though. Fae would rather curl up inside with five layers of sweaters and an extra-fluffy blanket and drink hot chocolate made from scratch than have anything to do with the-season-from-hell.
6. Does your OTP celebrate any holidays during the spring? How?
Winnie grew up in too many different foster homes, shelters, and detention centers to have ever had a stable religious identity or serious cultural practices. All holidays leave a bad taste in faer mouth and fae don’t really enjoy them. Easter, in particular, can be pretty triggering for faem (transphobic foster parents and mandatory formal pictures don’t mix well). After meeting Querída and Refiye, Winnie was invited to spend Easter with their family and has been falling asleep through the long Spanish masses every year since. Faer new adoptive parents are agnostic hippies and don’t mind Winnie having faer own opinions on religion, and fae have been celebrating with the Emul-Vargas family more out of habit than anything else these days.
7. Which one of the members of your OTP has trouble getting an egg to stand upright during the equinox?
Querída is terrible at this; it’s one of the few things that Refiye viciously mocks her for since she tends to best him at everything else. Winnie always refuses to try and Rosarío eventually learned to stop pushing.
8. How does your OTP spend their spring break?
Winnie always used to spend faer spring break with Querída’s family in a massive sort of week-long sleepover. Now that Winnie has loving parents of faer own, the two of them are going to go to Mexico and visit the ranch where Querída’s great-grandparents grew up. Refiye wanted to go too but his friend Ocean begged him to join a gaming tournament instead.
