Probably obvious, but you enjoy history? Since you write period fics with excellent tone and levels of detail.

You are 100% correct! I love history. Something I’m really passionate about is letting the past speak as itself; I HATE when people force modernity onto the past and pass judgement on it for not measuring up. People are always people, but worldviews are not always worldviews, and when I write I want to explore the differences while still illuminating the similarities.

Right now my favorite story of yours is Researching Love because I just spent the entire story high-key internally screaming at all of the PINING, but there are so many good ones to choose from! Murder By Mistake is definitely a perennial fave, though. I've reread that one a few times. You just did such a fantastic job with the time and place and setting.

SO MUCH PINING, Steph, you have to scream or you’ll choke on it—that’s them, though. What can be said. I really hope I did justice to the setting for MBM, with all the research I put into it! I know you understand that. Thank you!

It's a tie between Murder by Mistake and Potent as Blood! I think it's Murder By Mistake, though, because I'd never read a fanfiction of that length all the way through before, but it was SO GOOD I could NOT put it down! It was also the first fanfic I read even though it had no smut. The premise drew me in and the story and prose held me riveted. (ps: please write moorreeeeeeeeeeee ^___^)

Anon, I am so thrilled to hear that the fic kept you riveted even without smut—as an author who doesn’t smut, it can feel like you have to work a little harder to hold attention (not as much in this fandom, though—I like to think we’re all over the spectrum)! I literally threw my fists up in the air and shouted “victory!” when I read this message.

As far as writing more goes, I have one little story to write for my sister who has been waiting very patiently AND THEN I have eleven blank notebooks, eight reference books, and a mountain of plot to get me started on MBM III! I can’t say when it will come, but I promise it will.
