hiii here to explain stuff about dan and phil
they’re both youtubers as you said. phil was making youtube videos when the site had just started and he gained a small following. dan was one of the people who followed phil back then and he interacted with him quite a bit but it was only in 2009 when he and phil actually started talking to one another.
things moved quite fast! they ended up meeting in october 2009 and then continued to talk online/mention one another publicly and hang out. dan ended up going to university near where phil lived and so they hung out more irl and were often in one another’s videos. dan eventually chose to drop out and he moved in with phil and they began living together and working together.
dan’s videos usually had skits in them and often talked about embarrassing yet funny situations he had been in. phil similarly had a lot of storytime videos but also went through phases of some artistic and a bit strange but in a good way videos. together they kind of just shared whatever they were doing so some of their videos of living together was them decorating the christmas tree or building a wardrobe.
they’re both gay and came out publicly in 2019. there was a lot of speculation since 2009 about their relationship and individual identities. although they both came out as gay and dan’s coming out video talked about the romantic relationship him and phil had he also said they both don’t really want to share too much about their relationship.
there’s quite often a misunderstanding from outside of the phandom that dan and phil hate their fans writing fanfiction. this isn’t true. what is true is that before 2019/coming out there was a lot of overboard speculation in terms of people contacting their family/close friends to ask if they were gay before they came out. that is obviously awful behaviour and to summarise dan’s long coming out video he grew up being around a lot of homophobia so he didn’t feel comfortable with that for a lot of his life. BUT dan and phil have always encouraged their fandom’s creativity and they have both said that meeting their fans (phandom is very lgbtq itself) was what pushed them to feel comfortable with coming out.
so the ‘are they in a relationship’ question is a bit of a strange one because they don’t really want to publicly say anything. they did design and build their own house together. they’ve described each other as best friends, soulmates, two old tortoises, a metaphor for ranch?, enemies, husbands.
right now they’re on their 3rd joint tour together so i imagine that will be a large part of the podcast discussion. they have a gaming channel called danandphilgames which went on a hiatus in 2018. everyone kind of hoped it would eventually come back and IT DID in 2023. i think if you want a sense of their dynamic their youtube video called slime and sadness cinnamon rolls is good. its them baking cinnamon rolls with dan dressed as a nun and phil as the devil.
this has got really long and i’ve missed a lot out but hopefully that’s an alright summary. i’ve only ever watched a bit of tom ? tommy and jack’s podcast so i’m also unsure what it will be like just from the opposite fandom’s perspective

OHHHHHHH ANON. ohhh i have so many thoughts you dont even KNOW. well first off, it was peak. like it was really, REALLY good. i've seen wad and obvs wad was wonderful, but tit was just Better. the energy was immaculate, it was SO funny, and dnp genuinely seemed to be having so much fun :)) i loved all the little segments and such, i think my favorite part for the Funnies was probably role model or nole model, but my favorite part for the Emotions was probably phil's monologue. but just. in general. my first tit-sperience....... i see what you all mean now. i see why you were all so cut up when it ended. what a fuckin masterpiece. i went in honestly not expecting anything on an insanely different level from we're all doomed (which WAS fantastic), but terrible influence BLEW MY FUCKING MIND.
