Should Sage and Montoya be the Question at the same time.
For those who don't know The Question (Vic Sage) is a vigilante detective with no face who explored the moral complexity or Justice as well as trying to answer the Philosophical origins of crime and evil, and generally operates his crime-fighting in Hub City, the neighboring city of Gotham, and just as crime-infested. In the comics, Renee Montoya, a GGPD detective, takes up the mantle of The Question after Vic’s death.
I am very adamant about having both Vic and Renee being the Question at the same time cause it both satisfies many fans who prefer either Sage or Montoya and narratively it makes sense because the main theme and the hero is that the Question questions everything, and both Vic and Renee connect every suspicious coincidence to a one theory or conspiracy.
I always saw The Question, the hero persona, as a conduit for a defiant truth seeker like Vic and Renee to use to explore and answer not only the crime at hand but the overall origin of crime and evil itself.
Imagine this, The Question, this vigilante who dresses in a hard-boiled detective get up, fedora and trench coat in all, one one knows who they are, cause they are seen either as male or female in both Hub City and Gotham, they seek truth, they expose every evil hidden, they answer mysteries, but going to logical conclusion that this vigilante are two separate people who dress the same, they are the same hero cause unlike other heroes, the Question is part of those who dawn his costume and most importantly the questio.
“Why?”
