Questions for Warriors of Light, Scions, and Echo Bearers

Nenela is friends with the Scions and considers them family, although… it doesn’t mean she feels entirely relaxed around them. Yes, they are kind to her, but most of them are also accomplished scholars and honestly? There have been many times where she just felt like a dumb kid compared to them. Perhaps the only person that didn’t frighten her at first was Minfilia. The Antecedent might have been a boss of sorts, but not the kind of boss you’re constantly worried about disappointing. Minfilia’s Echo and devotion to Hydaelyn was something they had in common, and Nenela often looked up to her as an older sister of sorts.

Those who have been following this blog for a while might know Nenela used to have a big crush on Alphinaud. After all, they’re the same age, and a lot of the msq you spend at his side. This could have been cute… but unfortunately, it was also a big source of anxiety for her. Sure, she got butterflies every time he said something nice to her, but there were also the constant fears of ‘but he’ll never like me in return bc I’m Lalafell and in a few years he’ll be tall and I’ll be small forever’, and ‘I’m probably just misinterpreting his kindness and being a bad friend’. It wasn’t actually that fun! Over time, as msq stopped having the WoL and Alphinaud joined at the hip, the infatuation faded and now they can just be good friends. A friend she can relax around instead of being high-strung all the time.

In general, Nenela tends to get along better with those her age than adults, aka anyone above 20. Alisaie is great, even if her sharp tongue can be a bit frightening. Arenvald has big brother energies. Honoroit is a kindred spirit when it comes to being born in poverty and then suddenly being surrounded by all these rich and clever people. Rielle is kind and Nenela loves helping her with her conjury and making fun of Sidurgu.

She also looks up to Tataru and Krile, the fact that they’re fellow Lalafell makes them a bit less intimidating. She shares her passion for weaving and mammets with Tataru, and she loves listening to Krile tell stories.

The Knight and The Dragoon

It had never been in Estinien’s nature to stay around for very long. Now would be no exception, Aymeric already knew, and he more than accepted the fact. Just the mere opportunity to see the former Azure Dragoon again, to know that his friend was alive and well and that the rumors of his presence in Gyr Abania were true, it filled the Lord Commander with a sense of relief beyond words -- even with the image of Estinien staring down Zenos yae Galvus still burning in his mind.

The Warrior of Light had yet to awaken. Transport was being arranged to take him to Ishgard at the behest of Aymeric himself, who insisted that their chirurgeons would do the utmost to care for him. While this was going on, Aymeric found himself pacing around the infirmary, while the dragoon looked on with the usual steely expression upon his face from his propped position against the doorway.

“... ‘Tis not like you to fret so,” the other finally broke the silence, a hint of amusement evident in his voice. “Continue like this, and you are sure to wear a hole into the floor.”

That got him to pause in his tracks. His arms crossed over his chest, and for a moment he looked ready to scold Estinien -- but quickly enough broke into soft laughter, brows raising. “Aye, my friend, aye. We must have faith that Masaki will awaken, not resign ourselves to a pessimistic possibility.”

And it was quite true. Given the state of chaos that had befallen the Alliance, between the comatose state of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, the failed peace negotiations with Emperor Varis, and the Empire’s push to reclaim Ala Mhigo, they could ill afford to become engrossed in the worst case scenario what-if’s.

Estinien seemed satisfied with this response. He pushed himself off of his resting spot, grabbed up his lance, and turned to leave, calling back over his shoulder not a farewell, but a simple request:  “Give him my regards.” And just like that, he was gone again.

🌺 alyx may or may not have been involved an incident that may or may not include: static shocks charged by aether, a b-rank hunt, stupid dares by friends, and a questionable amount of alcohol. said incident may be one of the reasons why alyx skirts around ul'dah, if she does at all.

PRIDE. -What is your muses biggest flaw?

“DAMN.” Questions for Muses.

Pride – this guy. this fuckin’ guy. he’s awfully headstrong and it’s very hard to convince him to change his plan of action when he feels he knows what he has to do. on one hand, being naturally driven is a good thing–he shows strong dedication to people and tasks. on the other, he often doesn’t realize in that single-mindedness, he can hurt others unintentionally.

at times, it is intentional, and he already has a track record of tampering with people’s trust because of it–especially in due part to the fact that he doesn’t communicate his intentions when he believes he has to handle something on his own. he’s super bad at sharing the burden of doing something that might risk harm to others to the point that he thinks it’s better off not to be said at all. this hurts people agAIN because he didn’t say anything.

headstrong + poor communication leads him to make some really stupid mistakes where people get hurt, he gets hurt, or both. and it gets even worse when he hurts the people he loves because WOW HE’S A VERY GUILTY MAN.
