This month's #QuestMission is all about accomplishments that go beyond ourselves. I thought it would be great to show my story with regards to rescuing animals up until this point and where that journey is going to go in the future moving forward. 🐈 In 6th grade while walking home from the bus stop in the dead of winter, I noticed a little gray kitten following me home. Without hesitation I scooped him up and carried home. After what seemed like an eternity, I finally managed to convince my mother to let me keep him.... we named him 🐁. It all began with him. My sweet little gray kitten! I loved that cat more than myself. 🐕 Fast forward to Mother's Day Weekend 1998 (I was 16 years old) and I was headed up to Mancelona to be with my family for our annual Mother's Day get together. On the side of the highway I spotted a puppy running along side the shoulder. I got out and of course scooped her up. Suffice to say she was mine! I named her Niki. She was to this day my most favorite girl in the whole wide world. She was with me from 16 years old, until the birth of my two children. 🐶 🐱 Since Mouse and Niki I've (we: my family and I) rescued, fostered and have found homes for well over 500 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies. Each have been loved, fixed, vaccinated and re-homed. All of my current animals which may or may not add up to 8 cats, 2 dogs, 6 mice, and a 17 year old frog named fluffy all are rescues of some sort and foster fails. We really wouldn't have it any other way! Thank you to my lovely family who are always willing to lend a helping hand @plus_onez @pho_noodlez and Rayven. 🐕 🐈⬛ Moving forward the plan is to move to an area with space enough to not only continue to help animals, but to help people as well (veterans in particular). We feel that time is a gift that's priceless and something we're willing to give as much as possible. Helping those in need is very important to us and definitely something that goes beyond us.
