"I'll take it," Grace gasped in triumph as her smile grew, if possible, wider in her excitement. They’d always been quite the opposite in their friendship, which she didn’t mind in the least. But to hear him admit that he had had at least a little bit of fun during their day was enough to make the entire trip worth it. “Do you need to leave or can we hang out a bit more? I’ve got loads of other fun ideas for us.” Grace hesitated for a fleeting moment before promptly adding. “Unless there’s something in particular you wanted to do?” After all, she didn’t want him to think that she was bossing him around or making him do everything that she wanted. That wouldn’t have been fair at all.

Malachi frowned at her words as he leaned against the doorframe. Partly because he knew they were true but also because he wished he could do something about it. He had known what he was getting himself into when they started seeing each other — but that didn’t make this any easier for him. “I’m sorry. I know this is hard for you too,” he sighed walking forward and placing his hands on her hips. “I just wish you could stay.”

Malachi frowned because he knew she was right. Crossing his arms, he leaned against the doorframe and watched her through the mirror, wishing that he had a different answer for her. He didn't want to tell her what to do with her life, but he hated that she had to do things like this. “I know, I just...’ he hesitated with a sigh, moving forward to wrap his arms around her waist. “Wish you could stay with me.”

A sigh of frustration passed his lips as he briefly ran a hand over his face. He'd been in charge of many before, but never had anyone cause him so much stress. “Why? Have you forgotten why I was hired?” He reminded her with an annoyed expression. “This is probably the safest place for you right now. Anywhere else and I won’t be able to keep my eye on you.”

Stars glittered above them as Javier made his way across the runway, headed towards the private plane. In his line of work, he couldn’t very well just board any flight, which was the reason behind the purchase of the large aircraft and subsequent hiring of the only pilot he trusted. He had known her for months and knew that she was trustworthy enough to keep her mouth shut regarding his business and where she took him. Which was saying something considering that Javier didn’t trust people easily. He knew better than to think that people wouldn’t snitch for their own personal gain, but he trusted his pilot enough not to do that. The only downside was her smart mouth and the fact that she was the only person on his team that didn’t seem to treat him with the respect he deserved. He wondered if it was because she was much more difficult to replace than the other men who worked for him. A sigh passed his lips as he walked the steps up to the plane, arching a brow at the pilot who was standing there to greet him. “What did you just say to me?” He questioned, pleased that he was doing this trip alone so that his other men wouldn’t witness her disrespectful tone.

She had been waiting for this day to happen ever since news had spread about the arrest. Dallas didn’t always take so much note of the people who worked for her, but there was something different about Jaime. It wasn’t that they’d had much of a serious relationship — it was more of a physical thing if nothing else — but she did rather enjoy his company. And she was impressed that he was willing to go to jail just for the sake of keeping her secrets, even with having a daughter to care for. A daughter that Dallas had taken under her wing and ensured was well cared for during her father’s absence. Now Dallas stood outside of the jail, leaning against the trunk of her car, waiting for him to emerge. She didn’t expect things to pick up where they left off, but she was sure he’d at least need a ride home, if nothing else. And she wanted to thank him for not snitching on her.

Ever since Ruby could learn who she was and what she could do, she tried to fight it, for her mother’s sake. Her parents were never supposed to be together, which lead to Ruby being rejected by both sides of her heritage. She didn’t fit in with the humans and she didn’t fit in with the demons, so what could she possibly do but make her own life for herself? This life included trying to rid the world of terrible things, because she didn’t want to become the monster everyone assumed she would be. That was what led her to the alleyway, chasing some monster she still hadn’t identified. She didn’t expect to find a fresh corpse instead. She slowly approached, frowning as she reached down to check for a pulse she knew wouldn’t be there. Still, she had to check. Sighing softly, Ruby got to her feet, only to hear footsteps at the other end of the alley. Oh no, not good. She turned to flee, but whomever it was was approaching too quickly. She’d never get out without them seeing her. Better to stand her ground than run. “This isn’t what it looks like.”

“Is someone going to get the door,” Phoebe called from the attic, having listened to someone knock for the past couple minutes. When she didn’t hear a reply, she let out a sigh and descended the stairs. Everyone must have left, she wondered, making her way through the empty house and to the person who was still persistently knocking on her door. Whatever they needed, it must have been important for them to keep knocking for as long as they had been. Concerned and curious, Phoebe hurried through the house, promptly pulling the door open as soon as she got there. “Can I help you?” She asked to the stranger on the other side.
