hc: victor gets all blushy when yuuri uses endearments/nicknames for him shower victor nikiforov in love and care 2k17
“Vitya, can you pass the remote?”
Victor leans forward, grabs the remote off of the coffee table and hands it to Yuuri, who flips the channel. He’s half-conscious, and he’d predicted hours ago that it’d be one of those nights where they fall asleep on top of each other on the couch.
He shifts so that his back presses more firmly into Yuuri’s chest, then turns to look at him, unsure if he’d heard him correctly. “What did you just say?”
Yuuri frowns, confused, and strokes his hair. “I asked if you could pass the remote.”
Victor shakes his head. “No, you… You called me something, or…” His eyebrows draw together, and it takes all of his remaining energy to turn and meet his eyes.
“Oh,” he realizes. “Um, yeah. Vitya. Is that okay?”
He can’t help the warmth that rushes through him when Yuuri says it again, slower. His Japanese accent wraps around the familiar syllables and turns the name into something new, something personal, something intimate. Victor smiles at him. “That’s okay.”
Yuuri laughs, almost nervously, and tears his gaze away. “Are you… Are you sure? If you don’t want me to use that I won’t, but I thought maybe—”
“I like it,” Victor admits, and presses a gentle kiss to Yuuri’s collarbone. “I like it a lot, actually.”
He grins, kisses his hairline. “You do?”
“Mmm,” he hums, letting his eyes fall shut. “Can you say it again?”
“Vitya,” Yuuri repeats, and holds him tighter. “It sounds funny right now, but I think I could get used to saying it.”
Victor sighs. “I could get used to hearing it.”
Yuuri laughs. “Is that a blush I see?”
Victor doesn’t bother trying to hide it. Instead, he looks up at him and nuzzles his chest. “I told you I like it.”
Yuuri presses another kiss to his head. “Goodnight, Vitya.”
“Goodnight, Yuuri.”
