When Shane & Quiara we’re in the car giving Angelica a pep talk for asking a girl she’d fallen in love with, her first, that was just so fucking wholehome and can people just be this way with anyone who comes and and goes for it because it’s hard enough as it is asking anyone out let alone the feels you get when you’re like holy shit they’re probably not into me or might freak out at me because I’m the same gender as them etc.
When Shane was like SHE BETTER SAY YES OR ILL WRITE A LETTER TO HER MOTHER (was a joke, just a protective joke) that was funny to see her getting protective and parental and caring especially after she was struggling with the fact her partner wanted kids and she didn’t think it was for her.
Hand to mouth nearly spat out my coffee when Shane declared that and I CRIED at Angelica asking her friend out and her saying yes and that she loved her back and I was just! Yes! Positivity! So good! I thought about my own stuff as well, and I’m happy to see something more positive. Like yes we have a tough time being queer and it’s very real, but let’s have some POSITIVE representations to rather than it always having to be a tragedy. Good Queer Relationships And Coming Out Stories Are A Thing. We Can Have A Joyous Time At Times As Well Despite Bigotry Still Being Prominent.
My thoughts on L Word: Generation Q - Episode 6:
SPOILERS AHEAD... READ AT YOUR OWN RISK 1. I literally squealed so hard when Bette opened the door and Tina was standing there. Tina is literally the missing puzzle piece that can take this show from being great to excellent because Bette (as a character) is just better when she is with/around Tina. They are truly a pair and I really, really hope the writers recognize this because it can give Bette’s storyline the spark that it needs.
2. While I was incredibly skeptical about Quiara after she sent Shane divorce papers, showed up at Shane’s house, slept with Shane, and then told Shane she was pregnant knowing that Shane did not want kids, after this week, their relationship is kind of growing on me. I’m not completely sold on them yet, but after this week’s episode, you can see that Quiara genuinely loves Shane and vice versa.
3. Don’t get me wrong... I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jamie Clayton. I loved her on Sense8 and think she is one of the most talented actresses of this generation. That being said... I just am struggling to see how she fits in with this show. Yes, I know that she has this blossoming friendship with Finley and I suppose that can turn into an interesting story, with both of their issues with alcohol, but as of right now, I’m just struggling with Tess as a character and what her purpose is beyond running Shane’s bar.
4. Dani and Sophie. Oh boy. Like, don’t get me wrong, I am still 100% in their corner and want to see their relationship succeed and think that eventually, they will get their happy ending. I just think that there is going to be a lot of hurt before that happens. Sophie is understandably upset about the fact that Dani doesn’t open up to her, but she has also allowed Dani to NOT talk about this stuff for so long, that it is a little bit unrealistic to expect Dani to just change how she has always operated and start sharing. That being said, I do think that Dani will change... and unfortunately, it’s most likely going to take Sophie cheating on her with Finley for that to happen.
5. Alice and Gigi and Nat... ugh. These three have stolen my heart. I love them as a thruple. I love Nat and Gigi comforting Alice together at the restaurant. I love all three of them bickering in the car like an old married couple. I like the kids being okay with having the three of them in their life. I just love it all. That promo for next week though... ugh. I am really hoping that because the promo is making it out to look like Nat and Gigi doing something they shouldn’t (fucking without Alice) and Alice finding them, that it is not going to turn into the storyline of Alice being left in the dust. I’m kind of hoping that it will strengthen the thruple because that time that Gigi and Nat spent together allowed them to heal, or at least start to heal, whatever it is that was broken between them and has been causing all the arguing. That’s just my wishful thinking though because I absolutely love Alice and Gigi together.
Anyway... those are my thoughts for this week’s episode... definitely feel free to add your own or send me a DM if you want to talk about this episode more!
so we all noticed how quiara was wearing shane’s shirt right?
The scene with Quiara telling Shane no one will ever love her had my jaw on the fucking floor. Shane was nothing but honest. Shane communicated, was supportive, tried her best within her boundaries (which she openly expressed) and did what she could to support her wife while not denying her own needs. Quiara was so cool and kind and genuinely flexible until that fucking moment. And Shane deserves so much better.
Cute happy maid~
