The twenty-second character in my silly poem series is Satien of @nyarumi-nyan.

One of the most prolific and talented gposers (is gposer a noun?) on Tumblr and probably beyond. The writer's answers to various character asks are always a joy to read. Satien is a great (and painfully adorable) character, who really ought to be more confident about his musical ability, although I am sure that Ha'rhul (the griffin) appreciates it!

Definitely an underappreciated gem of a blog that deserves much more attention. Do yourself and favour and follow it now if you're not already.

4. What was your OC's childhood dream? Is that still their dream? If it has changed, why did it change and what's their new dream?

Let's get started with Satien, shall we? :3

I think Satien generally isn't a daydreamer, or someone who has big dreams. Which also shows in his childhood dream, which circles around the wish to sustain himself. To live a life where he didn't need to hunger anymore. If he dared to dream more it would include traveling the world. But frankly, Satien is someone who doesn't dream big. He is humble.

Amusingly enough, Reah's dream as a child was to learn about the many different cultures which merchants visiting his Father's tribe shared in the evenings at a fireplace. They made the world sound so vibrant, the cultures of other lands sounded fascinating.

It's amusing to me how this is one thing he actually has in common with Satien xD While otherwise these two couldn't be any more different in their character and preferences.

20. What were the most idyllic years of your OC's childhood? Does your OC miss those days?

I love this question! Let's start with Satien as usual and see what my other OC's think :3

Satien's childhood was actually everything but idyllic, however he did have a couple of nice moments he deeply treasures.

Let me explain a bit!

Satien, also known as Ja'khai was born in Gyr Abania - the Peaks, where he spend the first couple of his years. Due to the Garlean invasion he got separated from his mother and father at a rather early age as they tried to flee to the East Shroud. His mother lost her life that very day, but through some kind of miracle - praise the Elementals - Satien survived and was found by what he thinks was an Old Elezen male who led him to Little Solace.

From there on, he was in the Sylphs care. His memories of that time where he was separated from his family is at best blurry.

Thus growing up in the Shroud, he learned everything he needed from either observing or frankly trying himself out. Interacting with other Miqo'te Tribes from the Shoud always ended in disaster and so he started to avoid them. Same with the Woodwailer and Guards, who did not want another troublemaker or another mouth to feed.

Naturally, being a growing up boy he needed more to eat than a Sylph, which led to him stealing or trying to hunt. Since none taught him how to hunt though, it was not always successful. With time he got much better and also managed to steal food, despite merchants watching out for him. Till he met a ink merchant with the name Raphael, who had heard about the troublemaker and chose to use the boys need to his own advantage. Satien took the offer and started delivering packages for him. Sadly the payment he received for that was not enough to grant him a meal each day.

Now here is one of the memories he treasures a lot, which is the moment he met his first ever childhood friend. While delivering a package to the Observatorium in Coerthas he met a small girl whom chose to share her meal with him. And through that Satien slowly started to visit every time he got a chance to. Which also led to him meeting a certain Au Ri boy with the name Sagan, whom he shares quite a special memory with. As the latter was the one to steal his first kiss. And these two actually meet again much later.

Oh, another memory he treasures would be the time where the Sylphs tried to cheer him up. Satien had gotten in trouble at the time and hurt by a Woodwailer. So the Sylphs chose to make him a little Sylph plushy.

While his childhood was certainly quite rough, he doesn't look back at it anymore with sadness. Amsuingly enough, his most ildyllic years he had from 18 to 22 years old :3c in which he slowly started to learn to take things a bit more slowly.

Now let's continue with Reah!

V'reeah's childhood was not quite idyllic, but it certainly is something he cherishes deeply. Nowadays he has quite a complicated relationship with his past and his upbringing.

Reah grew up in Gyr Abania, the Lochs. In the bound of his Father's tribe and with many half-siblings. He is the first son of the Nunh and thus was granted a bit more of a 'prince' treatment. He is one of twins and while he has a close bond to her sister, Reah had the closest bond with hsi half-sister V'misha. These two were inseperable and up to a lot of silly little adventures. Being quite a friendly albeit slightly shy boy, Reah was eager to learn and help around the tribe which specialized in arts of healing.

There was a lot of expectations on his slender shoulders, as he developed and appeared rather promising as the next Tribe leader. Of course, being a 9 summer old boy, he didn't think about anything like that and rather wanted to learn about thr world.

I think his most favorite memories are him sneaking away from the tribal grounds and into the Royal Hunting Grounds. Laying in the grass and watching the stars.

And the newest addition :3c

I am still not quite sure how his childhood exactly looked like, but it surely wasn't an easy one. Elouan is a born Mhachi, his parents didn't get together because they loved each other but rather it was an arranged marriage to bring forth a powerful mage. In their hopes, the most powerful one yet. And they succeeded. Thus born into nobility and high expectations laying upon him, his life mainly evolved around tutoring, magic pactices and learning how to behave like a noble.

Ah, I love this question, it's gonna be a fun one :3c Let me take this as a chance to introduce a couple of characters (You have met them in game already xD)

But let's start with Satien!

I wouldn't say Satien has a type per se. He certainly has moments where when he passes someone he thinks that they are pretty or handsome. But I think while appearance is nice, he rather looks towards their actions and behavior. He isn't the type of person who enjoys fleeting proximity, or something shallow, he seeks for a deep emotional connection and bond. By now I also think Satien is leaning more towards asexuality. It's quite hard for him to even trust someone enough to let them touch him, and I mean something small like a pat on the shoulder. He got a whole lot better with it! But he still doesn't enjoy random touches from strangers.

I still remember a scene from the RP where a very nice Miqo'te girl was trying to hit on Satien and he was so confused about it xD Let's continue with Reah!

Haha, Reah certainly has a type! And boy did that discovery cause a lot of confusion, surprise and irritation in him. Now, Reah is a bit of a special case. He thought he was something he isn't, simply because he never questioned his preferences and thought this was normal.

Let's say his entire world ended up being turned upside down :3c If you are interested in reading a bit more about his journey, we (Yokufo) and I are actually writing a novel about his story!

So, Elouan's type has been very well defined by him. Generally, he tends to like taller Miqo'te guys. Sun kissed skin, short dark hair and someone who generally is more dominant. He is not interested in ladies and will respectfully decline. Now amusingly enough, his "ideal" type has been created by pure accident.. While wanting to get rid of the Voidsent he had formed a contract with, he instead by some questionable means managed to give him a body and that with the idealized appearance of his former crush. Meet Lan.
