i'd like to preface this by saying your analyses of berserk are so incredible and so insightful. they are excellent, invaluable resources for readers trying to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the text, its themes, its characters, and everything else in between. and so, i'd like to thank you very, very much for all that you've posted and continue to contribute to this fandom <3
that said, as the resident Berserk Expert, what do you think the oral hygiene situation was like LOL (mostly wondering about it during the golden age arc, if that makes a difference) tyia!!

And lol well I come at Berserk from a pure media analysis perspective, idk a thing about history, so this is definitely not something I'm an expert on.
But I did google it quickly lol and I can offer you this page summarizing some forms of medieval tooth care. The positives: they had twig tooth brushes and salt scrubs to clean teeth, and breath freshening herby leaves to chew and stuff. The negatives: piss mouthwash, apparently.
If you're asking for fanfic reasons or something then I personally don't think you need to be historically accurate, take whatever details work for you and ignore the rest. Especially for an anachronistic fantasy canon like Berserk. So yk, maybe skip the piss stuff unless you're into that lol.
