Imagine this:
After the fight in the hut Jason and Salim are the only survivors, and Jason knows: there's gonna be a lot of questions. About the death of his entire team, about allying with an enemy, about those things in the temple. Enough questions to lock him up for the rest of his life — if only to stop him from telling people the truth.
And his faith that the American army is doing the right thing is dropped as well. He has nothing to return to. Never had, really.
"You can go with me," Salim says, somehow knowing his thoughts. Is it really that easy to read his face? "We'll figure it out. We'll find a way. And your people will just think you're dead and your body is down there. They won't be looking for you."
Christmas Sweater Day 2019
Kate smiled at the two of them as they laid on the bed laughing with each other as she got dressed for work.
“How cold do you think it is out?” She wondered out loud as she perused her wardrobe choices.
“Mommy, you gots to wear it today!” Lily told her, gesturing to the Christmas sweater that was hanging to one side.
“Yeah, you have to,” Castle told her. “We all have to be wearing them to go and see the tree later.”
Kate rolled her eyes but relented, grabbing the sweater. She had to admit, it was kind of comfortable and cozy and it wasn’t completely over the top like she would expect from him. Just a nice grey sweater with a snowflake pattern around it.
Kate slipped it on, pulled it gently down and loosened her hair from the collar. “Happy now?”
“Yes!” They both shouted.
“Okay, Mommy’s going to work now. Promise you’ll come get me and save me some cookies?”
“Pwomise Mommy!” Lily told her, giving her a hug and a kiss before she said bye to her husband and left for the precinct.
When Castle and Lily came to meet her at work later that day she smiled when they were wearing the sweaters that matched hers.
Happy Christmas Sweater day!
