It was a cold winter night, but you barely registered it. The little snowflakes falling from the sky being stopped by the makeshift shelter, the cold kept away by the fire at your feet. You basked in the warmth, a content smile on your face, and you intertwined your fingers with Sesshomaru’s.

He merely looks at your hands, a small nod the only sign of appreciation for this gesture. You leaned in close and he shifted, allowing you to take in even more of his warmth. You felt so nice, so safe.

It took a while to be this close, this intimate with the demon, and it had taken you so many stories, gestures, confessions, and more to get a place in his heart. But now that you’ve gotten to this place, you knew you’d never let it go. Not that he’d let you. The moment Sesshomaru started to experience the same feelings for you, these human feelings that he’d swore he’d never had, it was already to late for him to turn back. He’d give you anything and everything he could. He’d do anything in his power to protect you. But he’d never say it out loud. At least, not for now.

But he would keep you warm. Let you come a little closer. He would hold your hand.

“Ja’far!”

It was the third time you had called out for him, his eyes glazed over as he stared at a stack of papers warily. Dark circles were under his eyes and you found yourself wondering when the last time was that you saw him take a break. Couldn’t possibly be weeks ago, right?

He finally snapped out of his daze with a soft “oh, y/n, I didn’t see you there,” and picked up his pen again. You grabbed it out of his hand, and you realized just how tired he was when his reflexes came almost two seconds too late to grab it back from you.

“I have been standing here for a full five minutes, calling out your name. You must’ve fallen asleep with your eyes open,” you said sternly, but you couldn’t keep your tone from changing into worry. “When’s the last time you had a proper sleep?” he shrugged in reply, trying to grab the pencil back. “Sinbad is gone for a diplomatic mission and someone has to keep the… keep the..” He nearly drifted off again right then and there.

“That’s it. You’re going to sleep right now.” He couldn’t protest much as you practically dragged him to his room, plopping onto the bed the moment he got there, and promptly passing out.

You smiled as you took off his shoes, tucked him in properly, and kissed his forehead. Now to make sure no one disturbed him for the next twenty hours or so.

Hiya, thanks for popping in! Whitebeard is not the most popular character, but I have written for him before, in an event similar to this one. I like these events just because it can help me do little character studies without truly committing if that makes sense? Anyway, enjoy!

Whitebeard was no jealous man, as he trusted you just as much as he trusted his family. You were adults, and your relationship was one of adults. You could be apart for long times without even the slightest hints of suspicion. Longing, sure, but never any jealousy. You both knew better.

And yet, whenever someone did take the time to flirt with you, he would take some time out of his day to spend some extra time with you after. Whenever he noticed you were distant or absent, he made sure to hold you a little closer, take you aside for a talk, a shared cup of sake.

He was no jealous man, but he didn’t want to take what you have for granted. He didn’t want you to feel at any point in your relationship that the grass might be greener on the other side. Stories, jokes, detours to specific islands just for you, he would make sure that there was never a reason for you to doubt his love.

And you never did. You never had eyes for any other. Surely, you said that every once in a while, but not too often. After all, the extra attention never hurt.

Izo and you had never truly been secretive about your relationship at all. It just so happened that the both of you tended to be more discreet than open, and not that much into PDA. And well, there wasn’t a lot of time to be spent together either. Unfortunately, you were both way busier than you wanted to be.

And lately, you had been wondering if the fact that you were so busy and discreet was a killer combo for your relationship, in the worst way possible. You were getting a little bolder, a little more public, a little less subtle. Everything to get some extra time in with Izo. He noticed it too.

You had spent the night in his cabin, not even bothering to hide it, but no one truly paid attention. What would however grab someone’s attention, were the smears of red lipstick, his red lipstick, all over your lips, thanks to a kiss goodbye before you left, after he was already done applying makeup.

“Y/n, love, your lips?”

“I know. Let them figure it out. I like taking a little of you with me to get through the day.”

You stepped onto the roof, smiling when you spotted the pink haori near the end of it, chuckling when you noticed Shunsui looking your way.

“Please don’t tell me Nanao sent you looking for me. It would be very unfair, you know all the good hiding spots.”

You held up a bottle of sake and laughed. Now that caught his attention.

“No worries, I will be joining you in hiding from Nanao.”

Now it was his turn to laugh, sitting up and patting the spot right next to him. You sat down, giving him a brief kiss before pouring you both a cup.

The next few minutes were spent in comfortable silence, looking at the sun set in the distance. You sat a little closer when the heat of the sun disappeared with it, and gracefully accepted the arm Shunsui wrapped around you, allowing you to huddle even closer and get underneath his haori.

“these are the good moments,” you smiled, leaning in to give him another kiss.

“Captain Kyoraku! There you are!”

His lips briefly touched yours before pulling back, a very guilty smile on his features.

“Yes they are. The best. And way too short.”

“Why would he scold you? You have perfect attendance”

Leona’s voice sounded muffled and drowsy, mostly because you had just woken him up and he was still buried underneath blankets, face hidden away in pillows.

“Because, he asked me personally to see to it that you came to class.”

“Should’ve declined.”

You sighed, not entirely sure what you were going to do about it. You sure had a newfound appreciation for Ruggie and the way he managed to get Leona out whenever it truly mattered. How did he do that anyway? You remember asking him once, and.. oh.

You grabbed Leona by the feet and started literally dragging him, with way less success than you had hoped. How strong was Ruggie anyway?

“Y/n, are you truly trying to drag me out of bed?”

“If you don’t come out of it by yourself, yes”

“Well, two can play tug of war.”

And before he had even fully finished his sentence, he leapt forward with unlikely speed for someone who was slow and drowsy only seconds before. He grabbed you by the arm and yanked you forward, onto the bed, on top of him. He then rolled over, nuzzling your neck.

“LEONA!”

“What? If Trein’s gonna be angry at you for being late anyway, you might as well not show up”

You were trapped. You had to admit, there were worse ways to be trapped, but you were trapped nonetheless. A firm arm around your waist keeping you in place, soft snores telling you that your captor was still fast asleep and had no intention of waking up or letting you go.

"Leona," you whispered softly, turning around just a little so you were still trapped, but now face to face with the housewarden of Savanaclaw. Not sure how you had gotten yourself convinced to take a nap with him in the middle of the day, you actually tried to make it to class and breaktime was almost over.

The lion didn't budge. So you switched tactics, wriggling one arm loose (only to get his arm more tightly around you), and started petting his hair, stroking his cheek. You placed kisses on whatever place you could reach without overstretching yourself.

An ear twitch, a lazy blink.

Mission succesful. Or not?

"Oi, herbivore. If you wanted to go to class, you shouldn't have agreed to this."

Leona turned a little, using his other arm and a leg to trap you even more.

"You can keep doing that though. But I won't let you go"

You couldn’t believe it. Vil had gotten hurt. And you felt incredibly guilty about it, it was your fault after all.

You had joined him on a workout, eager to spend some time with him, desperate to impress him. Although you had nothing to prove, and you knew he loved you either way. But you had tried, overdone yourself, and now Vil was hurt.

You had overexerted yourself, stood up too fast, and felt your knees buckle. Vil’s reflexes had been faster than his body, stopping you from falling, but landing hard on the floor himself. It was nothing major, the only visible wounds being some scraped knees, but the guilt you felt was immense. Perfect Vil, with his perfect skin and just… perfect everything. You might as well have pushed him.

Slender fingers grasped your chin and pulled you out of your spiraling thoughts. “Vil, I am so sor-“ “It’s nothing. Nobody will see it, and you are safe and unharmed. That’s all that matters.” “But-“ “No buts.” He took a moment to think and smiled. “If you want to make up for it, you can come join me on my rounds tonight. Make up for the lost quality time.”
