Birdsofshore strikes again with an UTTERLY delightful fic! Premise: Harry and Draco have suffered through an acrimonious break up that leaves Harry finding out that Draco’s going to marry Astoria Greengrass after all, and they find themselves trapped in the lift (with no magic!) on Christmas Eve. I really loved this so much, it made me literally shed tears of feels-y joy when the pairing resolved itself (and this isn’t a spoiler, given that the prompt explicitly asks for a happy ending).
Harry is fucking sexy here, and I think it’s so amazingly hot that despite his being really ripped and buff, Draco still tops and is essentially the dominant partner even though he’s physically described as “fragile” and “beautiful” - way to subvert traditional relationship norms! :D Also I love buff!Harry, and birdsofshore did a really good job differentiating the two boys’ voices. The writing was neat and tight, and really conveyed both the different shades of a tumultuous, emotional relationship as well as the tension in the lift, so fraught with emotion and aching longing. The UST was palpable, and it was really a painfully emotional read. Also I liked how the side characters were dealt with. A new favourite! :D
