TW: DEATH AND BLOOD MENTION
WITH EVERYTHING THAT WAS HAPPENING IN WONDERLAND, SASUKE’S SLEEPLESS NIGHTS HAVE BEEN GOING OVERDRIVE. This time, the dreams were more rampant, gruesome. And Sasuke didn’t know what to do. They were dealing with a missing persons case again—the Uchiha knew exactly who it was by this time around. Although, he preferred not to.
He stood by the koi pond, now bathed in red as he saw a young lady laying peacefully with the fishes. The missing person that they had heard so much about was there—in the koi pond. She looked so peaceful, like an angel sleeping with its creations. Yet, Sasuke would always feel a pang of pain whenever he sees her there. He doesn’t know her, and yet he felt like he knew her for the longest time.
What was she like? The girl in the koi pond? Staring peacefully up at the sky with nothing but the koi to accompany her. Yet her form was raw, visceral. Something that reminded Sasuke terribly of what he had seen in his world. So many bodies like hers thrown and cast away to be seen by the police as a taunt. There were probably so many that were wondering where she was, what was she up to. Were they ready to hear the news that she was in here; not thriving and surviving? Not going to school?
❝ Uchiha, help us bring the body to shore. ❞
He would hear Adachi say in this dream, and he would turn only briefly to look at his partner—Cloud being the other one that was inspecting the scene of the crime. They all looked so miserable, and with good intention to be. The young lady had so much to live for, and she was here—dead.
He turns back around, walking to the river—clasping his hand together in front of him in a brief sign of respect towards her. Usually, the dream would end just like that but it seemed that it had more plans to toy with him; especially has he felt a sudden grab on his leg, pulling him down the shallow pond. Only, it wasn’t shallow. It was deep. Ocean deep, and he wasn’t alone either.
There, in front of him, stood the young lady—a sad smile on her face. She doesn’t talk, only smile. Maybe it was because he didn’t know her personally. Or maybe she didn’t want to talk, but she was there. Smiling and yet: not. She was crying, and his heart aches for her immediately. A rare occasion.
❝ I’m sorry. ❞
Sasuke found himself apologizing, eyes burning with tears? Blood? Both? The water was red, and he could never know anymore.
Usually, whenever he tried apologizing in dreams like these, Sasuke would get attacked. But for once…she had spared him. Instead, she had gave him a soft hug—nudging him to wake up.
And for once, he felt more saddened than ever.
