Another year, new subjects and yet, to Obito, the same old bullshit. He’s a good student though, he follows the lectures with his own book open as the potion teacher explains how to create a concoction to temporarily transform a person into an object or an animal with a type of magic that is not his own. He knows they are going to test the theory soon, every student have the pots and ingredients on their desk already- and Obito knows he’s going to try it too despite not being able to use the same magic as everyone else in the school. Because he’s a good student… Or tries to be. And perhaps he still wishes to discover one day that he can use this magic, even if the chances are ridiculously small at his age.
With a sigh, the Uchiha glances at the girl sitting next to him. He’s been looking back and forth between the teacher and this girl for the last hour, he’s not used to having someone so close to him for so long, his aura makes light mages uncomfortable. Usually… And last time he checked, he was the only dark mage in the school. Could it have changed, or is this girl a masochist? Why isn’t she wearing a hat like everyone else? Her attire reminds him of a mage specialised in poisons he saw once in a book. It’s unnerving, all these questions in his head. She didn’t utter a single word and Obito is already upsetted by her unusual presence next to him, he needs to know.
The teacher calls for a fifteen minutes break and before any brouhaha can commence in the classroom, Obito opens his mouth. An impulsive act, one everyone can hear as he practically cuts the teacher before she finishes her announcement. “Who are you?”
“Sasuke!” Sakura pushed at the raven, grabbing his attention away from his phone where he has been googling nearby pumpkin patches for the majority of the class and trying to find one that would be worth it. “Hm?” His eyes pulled away from the screen finally, turning to the pinkette who rolled her eyes in annoyance but repeated whatever she had asked. “I SAID, what are we doing this weekend for Kimiko’s birthday?” It was in a few days, her birthday, which followed Halloween.. The pervious year the group had thrown her a little birthday party with just them, they ate popcorn and watched all her favorite movies because they were just baby freshmen at the time and couldn’t do much. This year they, mainly the girls, wanted to throw Kimiko a huge birthday party with cheap beer and invite half of the school, but Sasuke knew his girlfriend better than they did so he shut that down quickly. “I already told you, I’m taking her for myself this year.” He got up from the table where he was waiting for Kimiko’s last class of the day to finish, it was his free period, and threw Sakura a shrug to apologize. “If she decides to go to Kiba’s Halloween party, then we will go to that. But I already have plans for tonight.” It was Friday, so school was done for the week and he had found a pumpkin patch with some activities he thought she would enjoy.
As soon as the bell rang, Sasuke was outside of her class room and watched as the swarm of other students flooded out of the art room with their latest pottery project in their hands. Some of them looked very tragic, and it was no surprise to him when Kimiko came out and her vase looked like one someone would actually pay for. “Hello.” Sasuke pushed himself off of the wall he was lounging against, a smile crookedly painted on his lips as he offered his hands out for her to offload her books she was trying to balance. “How was class?” They made small talk down the hall to her locker, listening to her rant and rave about what had happened, who backed talked to the teacher, someone breaking their pottery on accident. Art students were much more interesting than he thought they would be, who knew there’d be so much drama in a class that was suppose to be a bullshit relaxing class (or that’s what he always thought an art class would be, his parents never recognized art as a legit class to take so he never took one.)
“We’re actually not going home.” Sasuke admitted when she sighed, mentioning about being ready to lay in her bed together. She flashed him a puzzeling glance, and he laughed while unlocking the car door for her to put her stuff in the back seat, followed by him tossing his own bag in before joining her up front. “You seem to forget its your birthday weekend.” He cupped her cheek with the palm of her hand, turning her head to look at him and he quickly reassured her because he knew what that look in her eyes meant. “No, no big party to celebrate the day of your birth. Just the two of us, I hope that’s okay.” He leaned in, the hand that was cupping her cheek slid to the back of her neck to press her into a kiss over the center console of the car. Like all their kisses, it started off nothing more than a simple peck but with teenage hormones in full swing, it quickly became a heated session with him biting gently down on her lower lip with lust fully written in the coals of his eyes. Sasuke had to stop himself, they were in the car (that wasn’t the reason, they’ve had sex in the car before) in the school parking lot with students clearly looking at them as they walked past and got in their own cars to head home. “Okay. Okay.” He jabbed her gently on the forehead with his index finger before sticking the key into the ignition. “You can kiss me later. I gotta drive.” Sasuke didn’t put the car out of park until he watched her put on her seat belt. “And before you ask, I’m not telling you where we are going.”
It wasn’t that long of a drive, twenty-thirty minutes long, but eventually he pulled off onto a side road on the outskirts of their city and the pavement turned into gravel which turned into grass. It opened up into a fairly decent sized parking lot, cars scattered around with people and children walking towards, and from, the entrance of a locally own and grown pumpkin field. Sasuke carefully maneuvered through the field, trying to avoid mud and holes, before parking towards the front of the lot. “This is it.” He turned, slightly, to try to gauge her reaction before exiting the vehicle to open her door for her. “I figured we can pick out some pumpkins to start off out night.” A hand was offered down to her to help her get out of the car. “What do you say?”
&& the small gate accessing to the site produced noises, ones that succeeded to trigger a sense within the uchiha's essence. this vast area therein hidden a longevous structure that was often subject of dubious rendezvous 'twixt delinquents/adolescents, the latter having a tendency of marking their territory by drawing brash && random graffitis, irregular activities && at some occasions, a place for curious souls to wander, in search of satiating their voracious inquisitive side. the new presence seemed to be part of the latter aforesaid.
sasuke had nary an iota issue to approach folks let alone imposing a semblance of authority unto them. from one foot to another, the integrity of his physique directed itself towards the unfamiliar feminine figure. the sole of his footgear ghosting onto the solid surface underneath inducing no sound to reverberate within the air. his steps brought his stature to the closest proximity afore standing behind from whence she stood. “ and what brings a little kitten such as you in this place, hm ? ” he first inquired. “ could she be lost, doesn't look like it though ~ ”

Characters: Kimiko Tamashi, Rin Nohara
Pairings: None
Summary:
Rin helps her mother bake cupcakes to give out to others at Christmas time, and she is determined to give one to everyone she sees.
Everyone.
Notes:
Written for @quiet-kunoichi for @narutorp-secretsanta! This is a bit late and I apologize for that, but I hope you still enjoy this silly thing. :3
If there was anything Rin loved about Christmas time, it was the fact that she and her mother were able to bond over all the baking that came with the season. Especially now that her father had passed, that rift between them was widening.
Even a child such as she could notice that.
But baking...that was a fun activity, one that often made messes but also made for some great memories, and tasty things thereafter. Of course, she couldn’t eat all the tasty things herself -- that would be rude, as well as make herself sick -- but what she could do was try to spread joy around the village.
Being in a hidden village meant there was always some fighting going on, whether they saw it or not, and while Rin was in the Academy to join the ranks herself, she wanted to do something more.
That was what led her to today, carrying a box of cupcakes around, looking for those who it seemed could use a bit more joy in their lives. Of course, she couldn’t give cupcakes to everyone, as much as she’d love to, so she had to narrow it down to those who really seemed to need it.
Naturally, the Hokage had gotten one because he can always use something to cheer him up. Her teachers at the Academy got some. Kakashi and Obito both got one each -- though Kakashi had turned his nose up at the offering.
Now she was wandering the streets, in search of those who needed cheer. Brown eyes spotted a lady with long black hair, who looked a little bit grumpy. Rin, being Rin, instantly went up to the woman, a cupcake held out to her.
“Would you like a cupcake, ma’am?” Large brown eyes looked up at the woman, who seemed very cold, not necessarily mean but definitely not someone most people would approach. Rin wasn’t most people.
“A what?” Was -- was she smiling? Her lips were starting to quirk upwards, that was a good sign, right?
“A cupcake, ma’am! Me and my mom made them this morning, and you looked unhappy, so I thought I’d see if you’d like one. Cupcakes make everyone happy!”
“They do, do they?” There was definitely a tone of amusement in her voice, Rin definitely counted that as a win. “Well, sure, I’ll take one. What’s your name, kid?”
“I’m Rin Nohara, I’m gonna be a medic-nin when I grow up!” She puffed her chest out as the woman took the cupcake, looking proud as she could. “What’s your name, ma’am?”
“I’m Kimiko Tamashi. You’re a good kid, Rin. I bet you’ll make a good medic when you grow up.” And -- yes, there was a smile, albeit a small one.
“You really think so, Miss Kimiko?” Rin kept looking up expectantly at her, waiting.
“Yes, yes I do.” And then, the moment Rin had been waiting for.
Kimiko began to eat the cupcake.
Rin could almost see the happiness spreading within the woman, because that was what cupcakes did, they made people happy and she wanted to make people happy and safe and well and if she couldn’t do all those things, she could at least make people happy.
“Is it good, Miss Kimiko?”
“It’s perfect,” Kimiko reached out to ruffle Rin’s hair with the hand that didn’t have cupcake, tossing the last of it in her mouth, chewing and swallowing before speaking again. “You’re a really good kid. Keep it up, okay?”
@quiet-kunoichi whispered: ♢ Kimiko gives Ryu a kiss on the forehead
It isn’t necessarily that acts of affection are uncommon from Kimiko. But the kunoichi also seems to want to make them count.
Neither of them are very good at...this. Being with someone. And yet, for entirely different reasons. Kimiko with her cold shoulders, cold exterior, cold disdain for letting anything under her armor. Armor that kept her safe...if not lonely. Ryū with her uncertainty, reaching hands met with indifference for so long after being left with nothing. While Kimiko shunned others, others shunned Ryū. What one denied, the other craved, but was never bequeathed...until now.
So they’re rather...out of practice.
Ryū’s natural want to please others, to beg for scraps of recognition and praise, meant she’s always been friendly and nurturing, in and out of her duties. She has no problems giving these things. But in receiving she’s entirely unversed. It leaves her balking, unsure, and yet witheringly hungry. Like a dog kept starved only to hesitate when handed steak. She’s forgotten what it is to take rather than give. So while she’s more than happy - ecstatic, even - to offer boundless affections large and small to the ever-stoic ravenette, it’s when the tables get turned that she tends to be...surprised.
She’s turned right into the gesture, staggering half a step as a hand finds her forehead. There’s a momentary flinch, though she knows well enough Kimiko would never harm a hair on her head. The touch is simply unexpected, unpracticed, especially given her bustling. So eyes pinch shut in reflex, only to snap open as her body goes unnaturally still. Because the palm to her brow doesn’t linger. Instead it smoothes back, taking the fringe of her hair with it to bare the skin beneath. And then warm lips give a press, and Ryū feels the cavity of her chest hush.
...and yet something quiet and half-forgotten stirs within it a moment later, like a serpent barely warbling glass-like waters as it skims just beneath the surface. Her expression is flat, blank, as everything within her tries to chase that feeling, grab it by the tail and pull it up out of the water.
...but then it’s gone.
And instead, it’s replaced by a flustered heat building swiftly in her cheeks, eyelids twitching as she feels her composure start to crack. “Ah...!” Her knees wobble, as if Kimiko’s taken a piece from her Jenga tower and left her unstable, the shock of the action coming back full force and leaving her lurching. But she keeps her feet, eyes pinching back shut against her embarrassment.
But before she can retaliate any further, Kimiko’s sidestepped, chuckling like smooth dark mahogany as Ryū sputters in her wake.
