not a ton to say about this one! re-draw from a family photo, loved working on it, got a chance to use a paper everybody's been wild about forever, but just doesn't come up much in my day job. Awagami's Shiramine Select, worked great first try, super receptive, clean impression, no notes!
#letterpress#letterpress printing#printmaking#finished works#you know what i will say.#quietly.#yes it is theoretically possible to slap some filters on a photo#to eliminate color information until you get a one-color relief plate file#but I promise it won't be a GOOD plate to print from.#the filters have no discernment about which pixels are important pixels to retain#for a human eye to read the image.#just have an artist re-draw it as a one color.#anyway photos are generally way too low res for platemaking at size.#if you possibly can start at 1200 ppi you should and your printer will love you.
