ok so in general i don’t think Tanaka is the type to be shy about asking for affection, physical or otherwise

but early on in your relationship, before the two of you are like comfortable comfortable with each other?? Tanaka’s touch starvation would probably first appear when you ask to pet his hair (if you’ve ever felt someone’s super short buzzed hair you know what i’m talking about! i think it feels really cool)

he’s a little hesitant at first bc he lowkey thinks you’re making fun of him for being a baldy but once you assure him that no you’re actually just curious about how it’ll feel he gives in because he’s a SIMP

he’d bow his head a little bit to give you easier access but as soon as your palm touches his hair he absolutely m e l t s

he just closes his eyes and lets out a contented little sigh as he leans into your touch

he’d probably end up resting his head on your shoulder, letting out happy little hums or sighs every so often

you know how sometimes when you stop petting a dog they sometimes bump your hand with their head like  “wait don’t stop i’m not done being loved on yet 🥺🥺”? Tanaka would do that without thinking then get a little sheepish about it once he realizes.

once the relationship is a little less new and you’re both a bit more comfortable i feel like Tanaka is the type of boyfriend to almost always be touching you in some way, even if it’s as small as linking pinkies

also, the more comfortable he is in the relationship, the more clingy and vocal he is about wanting physical affection.

if he’s feeling a bit neglected he’ll just come rest his head in your lap expecting you to start loving on him

Tanaka Ryuunosuke was never good at studying. 

He could run around the school in under ten minutes. He could play a full game of volleyball and then play all over again. He was quick on the court, and he was one damn powerful player. But he was horrible at studying.

Despite help from Ennoshita, and even Yamaguchi and Tsukishima, he still struggled. So you, being dutiful to your boyfriend, decided to try your hand at it too.

True, he'd retained enough information to pass exams and tests, but you knew he could do better. He may act a bit goofy, but he was still a ways off from truthfully being called stupid. 

"Babe," he whined, "My brain hurts, please, please can we take a break?" You had to laugh as he wound his arms around your waist to stuff his face in your stomach. 

“C’mon Ryuu, one more question and then we’re finished.” you promised. He lifted his head, looking up at you with a gentle smile. 

“And then you’ll be back tomorrow and we’ll do it all over again.”

“Tanaka!” You laughed, pressing your hands to his cheeks. “You’re acting like that’s a bad thing.” You said, mocking a pout and squishing his cheeks together so his next words were muffled.

“I lov’ your company, ‘ts just that I’d prefer it ‘f we weren’t studying.” 

Your head met together, and you pressed a kiss to his goldfish-looking lips before tralling them up, on his nose, and then to his forehead. 

“Better?” You asked. He smiled.

“Much.”

Ahh that’s the cutest thing 🥺 He probably completely denies that he does it bc (1) he does NOT snore and (2) even if he did it would NOT be cute, but secretly he can’t help but get a little soft when you tell him how cute you find it and look at him with those uwu eyes. VEHEMENTLY denies it if you tell anyone else though.
