Monster Lesson: Quilt Monsters

Monsters like no other, a combination of Blankets and Sheets, this curious being is not a spirit, it's entirely separate.

Quilt Monsters are very mysterious. Nobody really knows what they look like. All you can see are its little eyes peering at you, from the dark depths of the cloth. And though not a ghost, they share some similar tendencies of both Sheets and Blankets.

They can be rather shy and introverted, but like Blankets, they typically use blankets, especially quilted blankets, to cover themselves. They can be fond of humans, hugging them happily if they get to know one. But they rarely ever approach others first, so if you wish to befriend one, you'd have to go out of your way to find it first. Those who get close with Quilt Monsters are said to be able to see their true forms, but some people say that their appearance is their true form. Animal noises like deer bleats, or duck quacks can be heard when they're happy. They are said to have some control of the size or shape of their bodies, but this hasn't been investigated yet. No two Quilt Monsters look the same, there's always a minute difference between them!

Quilt Monsters love living in cabins and cottages, as they see those places to be the quietest and coziest to thrive. They enjoy different treats depending on where they live. If a Quilt Monster lives in a cabin, they might prefer to eat cookies and hot chocolate, whereas cottage dwelling ones will eat bread/crackers, fresh berries and veggies, and wash it down with tea. Recent studies show that Quilt Monsters can evolve, and that there's a possibility you could see smaller ones inside your home, but it's just not efficient enough to bother doing so. But no matter where they live, they never go outside, as they do not want to be seen by others. They are very cuddly beings, but very shy ones at that. They find it easier to approach others when they are drowsy, so if you suddenly seem to be sleepy, that may be the work of Quilt Monsters. They'll rest on your lap, on the floor, or even in a drawer, because almost every surface is comfy to them. Cabin Quilt Monsters habitually rest near fireplaces, but cottage living ones, will rest in little nests, either made of random stuff they find, or of hay and sticks, the latter option is always constructed by humans out of hospitality. But at the end of the day, their favorite place to rest is in bed with you.
