Forgot to post this concept art the other day but I got a funny fella here. Patchwork monster designs are really fun to make especially when they're supposed to be rather odd in comparison to Raggedy Anne or something. <3

Monster pinup I did for Artfight 2022! Been a while since I spent this long rendering a piece, but I wanna do more. It's just hard on my wrist 😢. But I always like how more dramatic lighting looks.

He doesn’t have a name yet, but @otterguppy wants to call him gumbo

forget anime body pillows, this guy has a pillow body
world-building: patchwork guy, while also being full of fluff, is full of magic matter that allows him to move and can solidify or soften at will (said matter is magenta-colored, and shows in his button eyes and teeth). he can either be a comfy snuggle buddy, or dole out punches that feel like getting hit by a ton of bricks.
patchwork was made by doll's dad (who's profession is a combo of wizard and scientist) to protect her. after a series of attacks by dad's enemies, doll and patchwork are hiding out, homeless and broke. thus patchwork's participation in the homunculi fighting ring (a common sport in their world, though not legal, given that almost all homunculi are sapient). doll doesn't like it, but she can't argue with the money he wins for each fight.
maybe someday they can get out of the city and find a peaceful place of their own.
