Darkness. No, not complete darkness. There was light. Turning her head she saw it, the light coming from the blood like bio luminescence. It was the investigators’ blood that pooled around her feet, squelching up between her toes like some kind of gelatinous fluid. She could see how they died, how every agonizing moment was brought out by her. One limb at a time, one finger at a time, one fingernail at a time. They would not so easily get away with their atrocities. As she butchered, she became aware of Alice in her white dress sitting on the corpse of the first investigator, watching her with those eyes. ~I didn’t realize you missed me so much.~ Alice gurgled next to her as if the shock of death had damaged her once beautiful voice. “Of course I do,” Reina said, looking up at her, taking a break from her torture. “You were my only friend,” she said before the hair on the back of her neck stood up. Alice leaned forward, her eyes gone, her bottom jaw gone, the top of her skull misplaced as if a blade had recently sliced it open, grey matter dripping like from a leaky faucet, Alice’s words directly in Reina’s mind since she had no tongue to speak of. ~Then why didn’t you save me? I reached for you.~ Alice said as she reached for Reina who opened her eyes with a start. Realizing she was holding what was left of a mangled rat, she threw it to the side, throwing a mean glare to Alice who had materialized beside her. “That was rude of you,” Reina hissed at her as she went back to looking out, more calm than she had been for a while. That was one vivid daydream.
