Do we know why shiro hair is white?

It’s implied that it’s because of all the stress from being experimented on/fighting for his life. BUT. I honestly think it’s more than that. I think it’s a result from the experimentation. I think it has a lot to do with the use of quintessence. I mean, we’re aware that Honerva’s hair changed from dark blue/grey to pure white after being overexposed to quintessence. I think a similar thing happened to Shiro, only to a lesser degree? It’s probably linked to how his Galra arm functions.
