I'm a plant dad of about 40. This is my winter kitchen.
The lovely pink & white fellow is a cyclamen.
You can find a cyclamen bud pinned to Quirrell's chest in this Jim Kay illustration.
As illustrated, the bud is slightly more open than in my photos.
As a botany enthusiast, my guess is that Kay meant to suggest a secret being kept.
The cyclamen can sometimes be found at Abbeys as a nod to the Virgin Mary bowing her head. It's also a plant that "hides" it's face when curled up.
Finally, the Victorians sometimes gifted this flower is cases of resignation, when the recipient was resigned to follow a difficult path.
