idk bro it is seriously wild to me how you and several of your mutuals wreaked so much havoc on the tlou fandom last year when there was already a lot of hate going around in general, made the issue so much worse but repeatedly denied doing so, being shady as fuck to absolute strangers, projecting intentions on them they never actually had and accusing them of shit they never intended, and a year later we are stuck with your mid writing so i guess you win! congrats sweetie! all of the best writers are gone and it is a dead zone out here. i seriously don't get why y'all had to do that shit. childish. the fucking dumbest part too is none of the issues you whined about were resolved. i still have people coming into my inbox saying out of pocket shit. you all need to go to fucking therapy and sort out that baggage you're carrying it rather than making it everyone else's problem. maybe things seem better around here because you're "minding your own business" or whatever but if you're anything like this in real life it's going to be hilarious when it backfires on you and eventually people tell it to you like it is which is just because you have a feeling doesn't mean the rest of the world needs to come to a halt to resolve it for you.

Take me home

Dear self,

I’m putting this into words so when I feel sad and it brings me here again, I have something to bring me back to earth.

This isn’t even a profound concept. It’s talked about all the time. But how many times do you actually sit down and actually think deeply into it?

Today for one of your class, you had to analyze three different families across the globe. One family was from the Philippines averaging an $87 monthly income. Mother and her 7 children, living off of that. You looked at pictures of where and how they lived. In disbelief that that's the reality for some.  But one picture really stood out to you. A picture that quickly disintegrated that disbelief you just had.

In attempt to document the differences you perceived amongst your lives, you came across one picture demonstrating the state of the families dental health. Although they had close to nothing, they had one thing that was not shared amongst any of the other families; a smile that looked genuine. This women was a single parent, no electricity, no running water, no nothing, yet, she seemed happier than so many of the people you know who have everything and more.

Don’t get so caught up in this Western world you live in. It’s a facade. It’s led you to think you have nothing compared to your friends. That you’re somehow behind in the world because your family isn’t drowning in more money than they knew how to handle.You have absolutely everything and anything you could possibly need. Food, water, heat, electricity, car, house, own bed, own space, friends, family and most importantly peace within yourself. 

Don’t let this garbage media fool you. For god-sake this very laptop you're writing on in this very moment is a blessing. Focus on the non tangible. You are lucky and blessed beyond words. 

To this lady from the Philippines who inspired you to write this. I’m grateful for you. May this world bring you the most happiness and security.

Technical Support Thought

Generally, when it comes to trying to fix stuff I try to do everything I can do on my own before asking for help. (But then again, I generally don’t ask for help unless I’m desperate.) So when I go to tech support, I don’t care how long I have to wait so long as I get the help.

I hear a lot of people who wait 20 minutes on hold and the first thing they do when someone finally answers is bitch about how long they had to wait. I honestly am willing to wait three hours for help if it will actually help me and get my problem fixed. These people are hired to try and help you with your problem, and they are trying hard to figure out what to do to help you. They don’t want to hear you bitch about the wait, that’s not something they can fix. A million people call all the time to get tech support, so OF COURSE there is gonna be a wait.

If I realize I’m going to be waiting a while, I pull up a video game or watch stuff on YouTube with my phone on speaker. I find something to do while I’m waiting, because I understand that they are doing the best they can. So in order for me to not lose my patience, I find a distraction. And then when I get a hold of someone, I’m as clear as I can be with the explanation of my problem. I want them to totally understand what my issue is.

By being patient and clear with tech support, my problems get solved faster. And if they are able to fix the issue, I thank them immensely. Even if they can’t fix my problem, I thank them for trying. Because god knows how many people just finish with a “fuck you” or “okay, bye”. It goes along with my other posts about being a good person. Tech support is a hard job, you don’t have to make it more difficult for them. You don’t know what their day was like, so your kind words could change the rest of it.

I’m actually writing this while I’m on hold for iTunes tech support. I’ve been on hold for about 15 minutes, so I might open up Sims or something after I post this. It’s not like I have anything better to do.
