QUIXOTRY
: visionary schemes
QUIXOTRY, rather appropriately, became the highest scoring word ever played in tournament or club play when, in 2006, Michael Cresta played it across two triple-word scores for an amazing 365 points.
It was one of a handful of bingos Cresta played that game, helping him also set the record for most points in a game, at 830. And with the score of his opponent, Wayne Yorra, at 490 points, the match also set the record for the most total points scored in a game, with 1320.
